September 30th, 2011, Lifestyle Risk Reduction: Talking About Alcohol and Other Drugs - Part 2, Versailles, IN: ASAP Center and Ripley County LCC is hosting this day long training that will examine the phases of alcohol and drug use, and how to determine ones own trigger level. This training is being held for FREE, however you must have completed Part 1 in order to attend Part 2. Additionally there will be a $20 fee charged if you register and no show. Your Community Consultant has registration forms if you are interested in attending. October 4th, 2011, External Assets: A Closer Look, Brookville, IN: Stayin Alive of Franklin County are partnering to put on a 40 Developmental Asset training to look closer at the External Assets and how you can help build them in the youth of your community. October 12th -14th, 2011, OJJDP National Conference, "Children's Justice & Safety: Unite, Build, Lead, National Harbor, MD: This national conference is being held at the Gaylord National Hotel &

October 14th, 2011, Lifestyle Risk Reduction: Talking About Alcohol and Other Drugs - Part 1, Lawrenceburg, IN: ASAP Center and Dearborn County CASA is hosting this day long training to educate community members about brief interventions when working with you. This training is being held for FREE, however there will be a $20 fee charged if you register and no show. Your Community Consultant has registration forms if you are interested in attending. October 20th, 2011, Mandas Story, Aurora, IN: CASA of Dearborn County and the Dearborn County Health Department is brining Mann Spitler of Northern Indiana to present Mandas Story at 6:00PM at the Aurora Community Center. He tells his story, which includes the loss of his daughter to a lethal dose of Heroin in March of 2002. October 26th, 2011, Governors Commission for a Drug Free Indiana Monthly Commission Meeting, Indianapolis, IN: This monthly meeting is held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Government Center South. (Please check the ICJI website for possible change of schedule or meeting room location) October 27th, 2011, Training or Trainers: Marijuana IS NOT MEDICINE, Lawrenceburg, IN: Monte Stiles will be training community members from across the region on how to wake up America to the dangers and insanity of drug legalization, educate all agencies about the tactics used by the pro-drug lobbying organizations, and provide proven techniques for victory against those organizations.
