Introduction
Occasionally, issues may arise with the Archiver service due to a number of factors. When this happens, you may have to reinstall the database on the Archiver. The steps below describe in detail, how to complete this procedure.

1.1

Shutdown the Archiver Service

In the SafRun screen, right click on dvtel.archiver.manager, and then click Kill Application.

1.2 Cleanup Files

Open the folder, drive letter:\Program Files\DVTel\Archiver\AM, and delete the file labeled FederationHosts.xml.

Open the Archiver.exe.config file using Notepad. Locate the addkey=LoggerID value line.

Delete the hexadecimal value that is between the quotes. The full line should now read: <add key=LoggerID value=> Locate the add key=FederationID value line Delete the hexadecimal value that is between the quotes. The full line should now read: <add key=FederationID value=> Save the file.

1.3 Reinstall the database

Open the folder, drive letter:\Program Files\DVTel\ArchiverDB and run the QuickInstaller.exe.

Assuming that you are logged in as a user with Administrator privileges, check the box labeled Use your current windows user to use your Windows credentials to login to the database. If you do NOT have Administrator privileges, uncheck the box and login as User sa and Password DV_T3lab. You may have to append a \DVTel to the server name. Click on the Install button. If all goes well, you should see the progress bar proceed to the end. Close the application.

1.4 Format the Storage Drive

Locate the Archive drive in Windows Explorer, and delete the folder archive.

Right click My Computer on the Desktop and then click Manage. Click on the folder Disk Management. Right click on the Archive drive and click Format.

Set the Allocation unit size to 64K and check Perform a quick format.

Right click on the Archive drive and click Properties. Uncheck the Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching box.

1.5 Restart the Archiver Service

Start the Archiver service by right clicking on it in SafRun and then clicking Start Application. After several minutes required initializing the containers, the Archiver should come back online.
