PRAYER AND PRAISE

Pray that the Lord would heal Jim Baker of all his cancer and other illnesses, and restore the strength of his youth. Please pray for the Lauaki family as they grieve the sudden loss of Fayes younger brother Eddy. Please pray that the Lord would use the upcoming Stars Party to bring new people into His family and His church. Pray for the team at the Sarajevo Center, Bosnia and for breakthroughs in relationships. Also, pray for wisdom in developing effective events and activities that build bridges the lives of those who have never heard the gospel. Pray for soft hearts among people who are hearing the good news for the first time or who have heard and are processing the truth of who Christ is and what this means.

Adam from Christian Fellowship Devotionals writes

This morning I planned to take a break after lunch and clean-up notes for another sermon series but then things got crazy at work. I never got to the next set of notes. Tonight I got out about 6:30 and planned on going for a nice long walk. After about 20 minutes I saw a new neighbour so I stopped to talk. I quit talking and came home at 8:00. I enjoyed talking but I also hated that I missed out on my plans to do a long walk. You see I'm on a diet and tomorrow is weigh in day for me so I hoped to burn some calories. Two plans and neither went well ... according to plan. Life is funny like that though. We make plans and then stuff happens. Things don't go as planned but over the years I've learned that when you allow yourself to go outside of your own plans that is often when God things happen. That's not a typo that should have been good things; I meant God things. You see God doesn't fit his plans into ours. He is bigger than our plans. Moses didn't go out to see a burning talking bush; that was an interruption. Abraham didn't start a family with plans to pack up everything and travel to some strange land. Four fishermen didn't wake up expecting to be called to follow the Messiah. But each of these were willing to go along when God intervened in their plans. What about you? Will you stray off your carefully mapped plans to let God things happen to you and through you? For more, go to www.whac.net.nz/resources BIRTHDAYS COMING UP .......

CMA Celebration
Every year, people from Alliance churches all over Auckland gather for one weekend of special praise and power as we hear about what God has been doing in our movement in the past year, and what Hes leading us to do in the coming months and years. This Celebration from October 14-16 will be fabulous as we have Roland and Nancy Lumawag coming to share with us about their lives and ministries in Thailand and the amazing and challenging things that God is doing through them.
