Wiz-War Rules Summary

Setup 1. Each player chooses a random sector. Arrange the sectors together. 2. Deal each player 7 cards. If a Trap is received on the deal, discarditandredraw. 3. Each player chooses a colored token to represent hir wizard. Thesegoonthehomebases. 4. PlaceeachplayersTreasuresonhirstartingspaces. 5. Determine starting player by rolling a die; highest roll goes first.

WinningandLosing You win the game if you have 2 Treasures resting on your home base (not carried), which are not your own. These can be either from separate opponents, or both from the same opponent. Or,youwinthegameifyouarethelastwizardalive. Youstartwith15HealthPoints,anddieifyoulosethemall. You are eliminated from the game if both of your treasures arerestingonotherplayershomebases.

TurnOverview A) Main Phase: You may do any of the following, in any order. Youcanbeginmoving,makeactions,andcontinuemoving. Move.Youmaymoveyourwizardthree(3)spaces.Youcan playoneNumberCardtomovethatmanymorespaces. Use an Attack Card. You may make only one attack per turn. Punch. If you dont use an Attack Card, you can Punch (countsasyourattack).Punchingcauses1pointofdamage. You can punch a character or object in your square, or an adjacentwallsection. Use Neutral Cards. You may use any number of Neutral Cards. B) PickUpItem.WhenyoupickupaTreasureorotherItem,your turnendsimmediately. YoucanonlycarryONETreasureatatime. C) Attheendofyourturn,draw2Cards,thendiscarddownto7 (ifyouhavemorethan7). IfyoudrawaTrapcard,resolveitseffectsimmediately.

LineOfSight(LOS)andLineOfMotion(LOM) IfaspellisLOS(LineOfSight),thatmeansyoumustbeabletosee yourtarget. To determine ifyou have LOS to a target, draw an imaginary linebetweenthedotatthecenterofthesquareyoureinand thedotatthecenterofthesquarethetargetisin;youhave LOSifthelinedoesntcrossanywalls(orotherobstaclesthat blockLOS).CharactersnormallydonotblockLOS. Ifyouaretargetingawall,oracorridor,youdetermineLOSby drawinganimaginarylinebetweenthedotyoureonandthe centerofthewallsegment(orcorridor). LineOfMotion(LOM)isbasicallythesameasLOS,exceptthat certain spells or effects will allow you to see through a wall (extendingLOS),butthesedonotextendLOM. ItemCards Items generally can be retained after use (rather than discarded like other cards). They still count as cards in your hand. IfanItemsaysCharges=NUMBERcard,thismeansthatyou mayplayaNumberCardinordertobeabletousetheItemas many times as the Number that you play (once per turn). If you dont play a Number Card, you can only use the Item once. YoumaythrowanonTreasureItemtoasquareinyourLOM, ortoanotherplayer(oranyCharacterthatcancarryItems)in LOM. Itemscanbedroppedontotheboard,ortheycanbediscarded (exceptTreasuresofcourse).

Notes IfyoucreateaCreature,theCreaturemaymoveontheturnit is created, but may not Attack until next turn, even if the creaturespellcountsasanAttack. IfaSpellcallsforaNumberCard,thismeansyoumayplaya Number Card along with the spell in order to make the spell more powerful (or last longer). If you dont play a Number Card,thentheNumberisassumedtobea1(one). [Example: if a card says Duration = NUMBER card, and you playa2,thespellwilllast2turns.IfyoudontplayaNumber Card,thespellwilllastonly1turn.] Youcantradecards(giveand/orreceive)withanotherWizard whoisinyourLOS,butonlyduringyourturn(orhirturn). Wallsgetdestroyedafter20pointsofdamage;doorstake15. Forthepurposeofspellduration,aturnstartswhenaspell iscast,andendsatthebeginningofoneofthecastersturns. IfyourwizardkillsanotherwizarddirectlywithanAttack,you gethircards. AdeadwizardsHomeBasenolongercountsasaHomeBase. Youcanpunchanobjectorcharacterinanadjacentsquareif s/he/itfillsthesquare. Ifawalltokenisonanedgebetweentwosectorsandoneof the sectors moves or rotates, flip a coin to determine which sectorthetokenstayswith. Limitations YoumaynotmakeanyAttackonthefirstturn. You may not Teleport yourself or anything else to a Home Base. YoumaynotcreateanythingonaHomeBase. AssoonasyoupickupanyItem,yourturnends. YoucanonlycarryoneTreasureatatime.
