Albert Einstein believed that the future of Israel liesintheintellectualstrengthofherpeople.Thirty years before the State of Israel was formed, Einstein and his contemporaries envisioned an institutionthatwouldbecomearenownedcenter ofacademicandresearchexcellenceasymbolof the rebirth of the Jewish nation in its ancestral homeland. In 1925, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem opened its doors, becoming the gateway to success and achievement for Israels leaders. Today, distinguished alumni can be found at the highest levels of government and in the boardrooms of major companies, including throughout Israels dynamic biomedical and high techsectors.HebrewUniversitygraduatespropel cuttingedgeresearchprojects,createexcitingnew startup companies, save lives in the nations top hospitals and fulfill crucial diplomatic roles on behalfofIsrael.Theawardwinninginnovationsof Hebrew University graduates, particularly in the vital areas of sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation, are helping people theworldover. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem awards scholarship aid on the basis of multiple criteria. Among the key factors are acute financial need, demonstrated academic promise and research achievement. Candidates for scholarships are drawn from the student body of 23,000. Undergraduates and students enrolled in the one year Mechina preparatory program are eligible to receive financial aid, as are graduate students earningmastersdegreesandPh.D.s. Tal is interested in studying human perception with a computational approach, and is working as a research assistantinProfessorShlomoBentin'sEEGlab.Hewouldlike to pursue graduate studies in the field, and eventually join the research community. Following high school, he spent one year in voluntarycivil service as a youth instructor. He thenservedthreeyearsonanIsraelinavymissileboatasan electronic warfare systems operator. Tal was born in Kfar Saba.

Nataly made aliyah alone at 16 through the Naale program.SheservedtwoyearsintheIsraeliNavyasan instructor in the Student Deparment of the Jewish AgencyforIsrael,andspenttwoyearsworkinginRussia and the Baltic republics. She has oneandahalfyear oldtwins.

ZAUDITO KASSA is in her third year of nursing school.
An Ethiopian immigrant, Zaudito made aliyah to Israel with her family in 1984 during Operation Moses. She served two years in the IDF, an experience which she describesasauniqueopportunitytoservemycountry andgettoknowmyselfandmystrengths.Priortoher B.A. studies, Zaudito attended the Rothberg International Schools Mechina program at HU to improveheracademicskillsandincreaseherchancesof beingacceptedintoHUscompetitivenursingprogram. Zaudito says that, education is a top priority today, andgivesustheopportunitytojointheworkingworld and succeed. Its a privilege to acquire knowledge and education.TheHebrewUniversitygavemethischance, andIcouldn'taskforanythingbetter.

ADI YANIVenteredHebrewUniversityin2003asabiology
student,andiscurrentlyagraduatestudentintheFacultyof DentalMedicine,whereherresearchfocusesonoralbiology and the regeneration of salivary glands. After graduating fromhighschool,shevolunteeredforayearofcommunity service with friends from the Hanoar Haoved youth movement. Adi fulfilled her military service as a basic trainingsquadleaderandashootinginstructor.Adiwasborn inKfarSaba.In2008shereceivedaRectorsPrize.
