Queens Internal Badminton Tournament NEW Team Format!!

The TEAM: Teams will be playing 3 events against each other -- 1 MD, 1WD, and 1XD The standard team comprises of 3 males and 3 females (recommended) o This allows each person to participate in one event

Each team must have at least 2 males and 2 females o o Keep in mind that there are no breaks between MD/WD/XD events for each team match Players will be forced to play consecutive events

There is no cap to the number of team members you can have, but more team members = less games for each member of the team A single team cannot have more than 60% varsity players o o o o o Team of 4 -- 2 varsity players allowed Team of 5 -- 3 varsity players allowed Team of 6 -- 3 varsity players allowed Team of 7 -- 4 varsity players allowed Etc

Each team must elect a Team Captain (role will be explained below) Each team also needs a team name (otherwise, will be named as <Team Captains Name>s Team)

TEAM CAPTAINS: You are responsible for keeping everyone on your team up to date with the tournament/draws Team Captains must submit the team entry form to queensbadminton@gmail.com before the registration deadline: Nov. 12th, 2011 Before each team match, Team Captains must submit a line-up of the players playing in the 3 events o o o Once the list is submitted to the draw desk, no further changes can be made Not all players on the team have to participate in each team match A new line-up can be created before each team match

Team Captains of opposing teams can decide on the order of events to be played before the team match begins Both Team Captains must agree upon and sign the scoring sheet before submitting it to the draw desk

EVENT FORMAT: The tournament begins in Round Robin format where each Team will play every other Team within their Pool; there will be 4 Pools of 4 Teams (if number of participating teams allow) Top two Teams of each Pool will be entered into the A-Flight 8-Team single elimination draw Bottom two Teams of each Pool will be entered into the B-Flight 8-Team single elimination draw In case of a Tie in the Round Robin, it will be broken by the following (in order) o o o Total games for minus games against (games, not matches) Total points for minus total points against Coin flip

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the winning Team of the A-Flight and the B-Flight Everyone participating in the tournament will be entered into a draw for many more door prizes (including a racquet!)
