How to manage a Blackberry Internet Service account. 3.1 Search for a Blackberry User in the BIS Admin Tool 24
To begin, enter the customer IMSI in the field next to the number 1 and click on "Submit" to view the customers current registration.
To add the customer onto the RIM Relay, click on "submit" and this will add the "Blackberry Prosumer" service for you. The "Blackberry Prosumer" service is designed for Blackberry Internet Service customers. The "Blackberry Enterprise Plus" service is designed for customers using the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) solution and/or the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS). 1) This is the customers IMSI that is registered on the RIM Relay. 2) The billing comment and telephone number fields contain the customers MSISDN. 3) The subscriber ID is key in that it will normally tell us what the customers blackberry username is for the www.vodafone.co.nz/myblackberry website. In this case it is blank, so it means the customer has not set up a BIS account yet.

Click on OK to confirm the changes. Search the IMSI again to view the changes you have made.
1) The activation date shows us the date and time that the customer was activated on the RIM Relay. 2) This now shows that the customer is active on the RIM Relay.

The empty square in the picture above shows us where the handset information will display. Once the host routing table has been successfuly registered, the handset details will show in the red box above. We will now register the Host Routing table on the handset in the next step below.
From the Main Menu of Blackberry Handset, you will need to go to the options menu, and press the track pad NOTE Before a customer can register the host routing table you will need to ensure that the customer has BOTH APNS in Siebel and MML (live.vodafone.com and *unverified). You will also need to ensure that they have either a 2G or 3G icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. This needs to be in upppercase.
Tap on the "Advanced System Settings" menu to continue to the next screen.
Tap on the "Host Routing Table" menu to continue and register on the wireless network.
The window will show "No Entries" To continue, press the Blackberry button on the handset and the small menu on bottom left will pop open. Scroll up to "Register Now" and click on the track pad to register the handset on the wireless network.
Click on "OK" to continue. NOTE The host routing registration process will vary depending on what firmware version you have...(these screenshots are are taken on a Blackberry Torch running firmware version 6)
To confirm that the Blackberry Handset is registered to the wireless network, check the RIM Relay above and you will now see device information. NOTE: You cannot set up a Blackberry Internet Service account until the device information is displayed on this page. You will also need to note the 2 "Subscriber ID" fields as this will assist us in a future tutorial.

Click on the box next to "I have read and understood the Legal Terms and Conditions" To continue to the next screen, click on "I Agree"

Enter your device PIN into this field. Enter the Device IMEI into this field. Click on "continue" to move to the next page.
Create an account.

Enter your user name into this field. Enter your password into this field. Confirm your password by entering it into this field again. Check this box if you want to view your password. Click on "next" to continue.
Set Up Email

Select the type of email account you would like to set up. In this case we are setting up a Blackberry Email address. To create your email address, enter the first part of your email address in this field. Enter your password for this email address in this field. Re-enter your password again for confirmation. To set up a security question, select any of the options in the drop down box. Enter your answer in this field. Click on "Finish"' to register your new email address.

As you can see, you will receive confirmation that the email address is now set up. This link will give the ability to modify other settings with this email and also set up your signature options. Click on "Finish" to complete this set up and continue to the next screen.

To make any changes to your newly set up email, click on this link. The "Edit, Filter and Delete" icons will give you more options to work with. Click on this button if you would like to set up another email account.

NOTE: The red highlighted section is taken directly from the RIM Relay and is only shown here for training purposes, and to highlight that info such as the Device PIN, IMEI and Subscriber ID can be carried across to this program. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. To search using the Device PIN, enter the customers PIN into this field and click "Search" To search using the customer email address, enter their email address into this field and click on "Search" To search using the customers username, enter the first part of the subscriber ID before xx.vodanz. In this case it is "test.account" To search using the Billing ID, you will need to enter the customers IMSI. This can obtained through the RIM Relay, Siebel or MML. To search using the customers IMEI, enter the IMEI for the Blackberry into the "Device ID" field and click on "search"
Any one of the criteria above can be used to search for a customer BIS account, but you can only search on one field at a time. The next screen will show what their BIS account looks like in the BIS Admin Tool
As you can see, you now have the abiliity to make quite a few changes to customers BIS account. Some of the more common settings you will be using are below... 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. This section shows you all the device information and what type of handset a customer has. This "Create New Password" option is what is used when a customer has forgotten their password to login into the vodafone.co.nz/myblackberry website. Selecting this tab will give you more options to manage the email accounts that have been added. This is a quick option to send out Service Books. This shortcut will give you the ability to add a new email account.
