PSALM 141 v 1-2 Lord I cry unto You, Make haste to help me.

Give ear unto my voice when I cry unto You. Let my prayer be set forth before You as incense and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. 1. Lord, I cry unto You. DESPERATION. The prayer is urgent for the need is great. Just a simple cry for help, like that of Peter. MATTHEW 14 v 30-34 ; But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand and caught him, and said to him, 0 ye of little faith, why did you doubt ? When trouble abounds our faith needs to be strong. The closer we are to God the more confidence we will have in Him to help us PSALM 50 v 14-15 ; Offer unto God thanksgiving and pay your vows unto the most High. And call upon Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me. 2. Make haste to help me. RECOGNITION. PSALM 46 v 1-2 ; God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. King David had known the power and love of God for many years and was aware that when he needed help from God it was always there. Yet the flesh side of his life often overcame the spiritual side, but God was ever ready to show mercy. David had good reason to write psalms of praise and thanksgiving to God. JEREMIAH 33 v 3 ; Call unto Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not. David had many prayers answered by God especially when he thought God was not listening because of David's backsliding. God does forgive but quite often there is still a punishment to be metered out. 2 SAMUEL 12 v 10-14. 3. Give ear unto my voice. DETERMINATION. PSALM 91 v 2 ; I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, in Him will I trust. PSALM 138 v 7-8 ; Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You shall stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies and Your right hand shall save me. When we are worried and troubled we hasten to God in prayer But we should be meeting Him each day through the storms and the sunshine. People will see in us a peace during these times and will desire that which we say we have. 4. When I cry unto You. DEMONSTRATION. People should know that Jesus Christ is our Saviour by the life style we have and our witness to the love and mercy God has for each one of us. PSALM 142 v 7 ; Bring my soul out of prison that I may praise Your name, the righteous shall compass me for You shall deal bountifully with me. ISAIAH 65 v 23-24 ; They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble. For they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass that before they call I will answer and while they are yet speaking I will hear. This is a promise from God for the new world after the tribulation period. 5. Let my prayer be set forth DETERMINATION. Let us make a fresh start, confess our sins to God and walk before Him in righteousness. JAMES 4 v 8 ; Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you, cleanse your hands you sinners, and purify your hearts you doubleminded. God will not hear the prayers of idolaters or those living in sin. ISAIAH 15 v 16 ; And when you spread forth your hands I will hide My eyes from you, yes when you make many prayers I will not hear, your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes, cease to do evil.

But to the sincere repentant God says V18 ; Come now and let us reason together says the Lord. Though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow, Though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool. In old testament times animal sacrifices were offered daily, but in the new testament days Jesus Christ became the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. EPHESIANS 5 v 1-2 ; Be you therefore followers of God as dear children, and walk in love as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. 6. Before You as incense. ADORATION. As sweet and holy incense, not that which was offered to idols. We should come to God in the name of Jesus in prayer praise and worship, assisted by the Holy Spirit. REVELATION 8 v 3-4 ; And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censor, and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. PSALM 107 v 8 ; 0 that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and wonderful works to the children of men. HEBREWS 10 v 16-17 ; This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, says the Lord. I will put My laws into their hearts and in their minds will I write the,. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Our adoration of and prayers to God are like a sweet smelling aroma. And the lifting up of my hands. DEDICATION . The attitude of surrendering oneself to God . To praise and worship and serve Him well. PSALM 28 v 23 ; Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry unto You , when I lift up my hands toward Your holy oracle. MATTHEW 22 v 37 ; Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Then upraised hands can be acknowledged by God who knows the state of our minds. PSALM 139 v 23-24 ; Search me 0 God and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. We need to be constantly aware of the power of the Godhead which can be ours if we worship God in sincerity and truth. JOHN 21 v 17 ; And He said to him again, Simon son of Jonas, do you love Me ? He said unto Him, yes Lord, You know I love You.. Jesus said to him Feed My sheep. From the time we claim Jesus as our Redeemer, there is placed upon us the great responsibility of living the Christ like life and witnessing to the power and grace of our merciful God. 8. As the evening sacrifice. SATISFACTION There is something special in coming to the end of the day and seeking forgiveness, if necessary and to praise God for His blessings and guidance and the privilege of serving Him in His vineyard. PSALM 119 v 14-18 ; I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in Your precepts and have respect unto Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes, I will not forget Your word. Deal bountifully with Your servant that I may live and keep Your word. Open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law. I am a stranger in the earth, hide not Your commandments from me. God always knows the sincerity of our hearts and if we are worshipping other gods then He will not answer our prayers, We have reserved for ourselves the wrath of God if we do not repent and return to God. Revelation 14 v 9-11 ; And the third angel followed them saying with a 1 loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, The same shall drink of the

wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture in the cup of His indignation, and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever and they have not rest day nor night, who worship the beast and whosoever receives the mark of his name. The reading of these verses should be enough to make the unsaved hurry to the Lord in true repentance and turn their backs on all sin PSALM 107 v 8-9 ; 0 that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and His wonderful works to the children of men PSALM 140 v 13 ; Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto Your name. The upright shall dwell in Your presence. PSALM 119 v 45-48 ; And I will walk at liberty for I seek Your precepts. I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. and I will delight myself in Your commandments which I have loved. My hands also will I lift up to Your commandments, which I have loved, and I will meditate in Your statutes. Break forth into joy, 0 my soul. Break forth into joy, 0 my soul In the presence of the Lord There is joy for evermore. Break forth, break forth into joy 0 my soul.
