MKT 201 Principles of Marketing Session AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2011 Individual Assignment (20%)

Effective blending of Marketing Mixes is essential to marketers. Assuming you are the Marketing Manager for XYZ Company, you are planning to launch a new product in the market (You are not allowed to choose any product that have been existed in the market; you have to come up with totally a new product in the market). You can also be creative enough to design any new product that you would like to bring in the market and thereafter you are required to:
i)

Critically analyze and evaluate the Marketing Mixes (4ps - Product, Price, Place, and Promotion) that you will develop for your new product launch. the successfulness of your new product launch in the market, in order to boost the sales and profitability of your product in the market.

ii) In your personal opinion, creatively discuss (5) ways, how are you going to ensure

Basic structure required: i) Executive Summary

ii) Introduction Background of the new product & your company

iii) Content Analysis of Marketing Mixes (4ps-product, price, place, and promotion,

applied for the new product and personal opinion on how to ensure successfulness of your new product launch in the market.

iv) Conclusion

v) Harvard Referencing Style

Instructions:

1) Format: font size 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing. 2) The assignment should not be more than 2500 words or 15 pages (exclude Executive

Summary and references).


3) Provide logical and convincing discussion with appropriate examples related to your

company and your product.


4) Please submit your report and also the marking criteria to the lecturer ON or

BEFORE 17th OCTOBER 2011 (Monday) before 5pm. (Deduction of 10% per day for late submission)
5) You will also need to submit softcopy (in CD form) for the power point slides

prepared and presentation will be held from 1st- 4th NOVEMBER 2011 based on lecturers instruction.

assignment)

7) Any student absent during the presentation week would be given 0 mark.
