Replacement Ewes: Medium and Large 1-2:


San Angelo: yearlings 140.00 per head; baby tooth 90.00-136.00 per
head; solid mouth 70.00-102.00 per head, other solid
mouth 90-135 lbs 70.00-78.00 cwt; baby tooth to solid
mouth hair ewes 80-135 lbs 70.00-82.00 cwt.
Ft. Collins: solid mouth 100.00-115.00 per head; broken mouth 95.00
per head.
Billings:
mixed age 140-150 lbs 58.00-64.00 cwt.
So Dakota:

Weekly Trends: Compared to last week slaughter lambs were very uneven,
sharply higher at New Holland, PA and steady at San Angelo, TX. Slaughter
ewes mostly steady to 1.00 higher. Feeder lambs sharply lower. At San
Angelo, TX 5678 head sold in a one day sale. Equity Electronic Auction sold
340 slaughter lambs in North Dakota. In direct trading slaughter ewes not
tested; feeder lambs steady.

Pelt activity this week compared to last week: Packer sorted green pelts were generally
steady. A general downward pressure has been felt on all pelts because of a large number
of Australian pelts being offered coupled with a strengthening U.S. dollar. Demand and
offerings were light to moderate.

confirmed sales this week. Demand good. All prices reported on a weighted average.

In Australia this week the Eastern Market Indicator was down 29 at 1164 cents per Kg
clean from last week. A total of 45,122 bales were offered with sales of 79.4 percent.
The Australian exchange rate was stronger by .0154 at .9641 percent of the US dollar.
The sale next week has a total offering of 43,743 bales.
Australian wool prices are quoted delivered Charleston, South Carolina. The current
freight rate is .15 cents per pound clean. Schlumberger Dry formula is used for yield
determination.
The 75-80 percent of Australia price range can be used as an estimated value of clean
prices FOB the warehouse and gross producer. These are estimated domestic values and may
vary depending on current market conditions, yield, strength, length, colored fiber
content, poly contamination, and other quality factors.
