Miss Georgia Harvest Pageant

Thank you for being interested in the 2nd annual Miss Georgia Harvest Pageant. This pageant is
designed for young women to build confidence and knowledge that can last a lifetime and to
represent the number one industry in the state of Georgia – Agriculture. The pageant is to be held
on October 14, 2006 at the Claxton Elementary School Gym. The requirements for being Miss
Georgia Harvest are as follows:

• Must be between the ages of 14-18

• Must not be married or never have been or currently pregnant.
• Complete the attached application and send it back with the entry fee by September 15,
2006. (will not accepted if not POSTMARKED by this date)
• Attend the briefing meeting in which a group photo will be taken for the local newspaper.
• Attend the practice sessions (dates will be provided at a later time).

Entry fee for the Miss Georgia Harvest Pageant is $40.00 basic fee and $45.00 if you wish to enter
into the Most Photogenic competition. Contestants will compete in an interview competition, casual
wear, and eveningwear.

All contestants will have a photo placed in the program. Contestants have the option of turning in a
headshot of their choice. The picture MUST be a headshot at least from the waist up. NO FULL
SHOTS. If you do not wish to turn in a photo of your choice, one will be taken of you at the
information session in which a group photo will be taken for the newspaper. ALL photos will be
printed in black and white in the program, so keep this in mind while making your choice. If the
picture that you turn in is in color, it will still be printed in black and white.

Any contestant has the option of buying an ad in the Miss Georgia Harvest Program. The ads may
be designed by the contestant and turned in or they can have them designed by someone on the
Miss Georgia Harvest Pageant Committee. An order form is included if you wish to do so. Again,
remember that any photos will be in black and white.

All contestants that participate in the Most Photogenic competition must provide their own picture
for judging. The contestant that is chosen will receive an award for this honor.

An additional award that will also be given out the night of the pageant is the People’s Choice
award. As guests arrive at the pageant, they will have a chance to buy tickets for each individual
contestant. The contestant that has the most tickets at the end of the night will also receive an
award. This is the only competition in which the Miss contestants and the Junior Miss contestants
compete against each other.

The young lady that is chosen as Miss Georgia Harvest will have several appearances that she will
be required to make. Those will be as follows:

1. The Evans County Farm-City week breakfast in Claxton

2. The Rattlesnake Roundup Parade in Claxton
3. The Glennville Sweet Onion Parade in Glennville
4. Attend any function, i.e. other pageants, representing the title of Miss Georgia Harvest.
5. Attend any other activity that the Claxton FFA Alumni Association has not stated above

The dates for these events will be provided to the winner as needed. The contestant that is chosen
to be Miss Georgia Harvest will receive a crown, sash to be used for the year of her reign, flowers,
official pin, trophy, and various other gifts. The winner will be allowed to participate in other
pageants and hold other titles at the same time, but MUST make the appearances as stated above.
