NATALPLANETSINASPECTWITHPLUTO Foranaverageindividual,incommoneverydaysituations,wewontmakeamistakeifwesaythat thereisalwayssomethingdeeplyfrustratingwhenitcomestotheuseofthosenatalplanetsthatare stronglyaspectedbyPluto.Thosearethefunctionsofourpsychewhichwecannotusesuperficially, partially,lightly,unconsciouslyandasifinagame(intheusualsenseofthatterm,wherethewill toplayisunderstoodasanunconsciouslongingofachild).Thisisthepoint(segmentofourlife, aspectofpersonality)atwhichwehavetogoallthewaydown,tilltheendourownend. Thefactthatatthispointwehavetodieinordertoreacheternity/immortalityistheonewhich hurtsusmost,whichwefearmost,andwecraveforthemost. ...................... Atfirst,theenormousstrengthofourownwillconnectedtothepointdirectlytakenbyPluto seemssofrighteningandalien,farawayfromournormalselfawareness,thatwearecapableof admittingeverythingbutthatwedohavethatinourselves.Thatseemstoconstantlyeludeus, wheneverwetrytoclearlygraspitwithourmindanddefineit.

eit.Wecanonlydiscernitinits manifestationinraresituationsandmomentsofcrisis,intheformofsuperhumanstrengththat stemsfromourselves,andyetitisstillsomethingutterlyalienandstrangeablindforceinwhose handsweare,completelyoutofourabilitytocontrolitinanywayknowntoourusual(everyday) consciousness.Thisis,sotosay,thezerolevelofexperiencingPlutothroughanatalplanet. Iftheaspectiswithapersonalplanetorrulerofthehoroscope,Plutoseffectismorestronglyfelt, butalsomoreintimateandsubjectivethanwhenPlutoactsthroughanaspectwithsomeofthe outerplanets(especiallythetranscendentalonesNeptuneandUranus),exceptinsituations whenthosearetherulersofthehoroscope.PersonalplanetsMercury,Venus,Marsandthe Luminariesrepresentthebasicfunctionsofindividualconsciousnessandthosepartsofourbeing withwhichwestronglyidentifyineverydaylife.Ifstrong1 ,Plutosaspectwiththeseplanetsseemsto pushusintoexactlythoseexperiences,relationshipsandcircumstanceswherethisourbutalien,still undefined,blindforce,manifests. Inthiszerophase,welivenormallifeandgiveourbesttodisregard,ignoreoccasionalcrisisthat thisforceprovokes.Yet,Plutocontinuestoworkandthemoreweactasifthisinfluenceofhisdid notexistatfirstasanambivalentbutstrongneedto,inabsolute,total,ultimatemanner,go throughtheexperiencerepresentedbytheplutonifiedplanetthemoreintensethecrisesare, andwefeelmoreandmoretrappedinaneternalcircleofrepeatingthosesamecriticalexperiences. Wecanstayforeveronthiszerolevel,untilaninitialwilloccurstorecognize,forstartonly acknowledge,existenceofthePlutoforceinsideourselves,perhapsintheformofnoticingand recognizingthepowerofourinstinctivebeing,inthedomainwherethePlutoaspectisactive(in whateverparticularformthispowermanifestsitself;theverydenialtonoticeacceptitistheusual causeofparticularlifeproblems). Onlywhenthisrecognitionhappens,weopenforourselvesawayoutoftheenchantedcircle.Thatis thefirststep,whichleadsusintotheprocessofgraduallyevergraterliberationandconscious handlingofthePLenergy. Thisprocesshasthreemainphases,eachofthemcontributinginaspecificmannerto,atonehand, ultimate,essentialunderstandingoftheplutonifiedplanet/functionofthepsyche(andthe

orbtobeconsidereadandtheaspectitselfonlytheaspectsofthecross(conjunction,square,opposition, andtheirderivationstoalesserdegree),andonlysmallorbs(forexample,notwiderthan3)

analogousaspectoflife),andontheotherhand,tocloserandcloserapproachtotheessenceofthat whichPluto(andthisprocessitself)represents. Primarilythereoccurs,throughtheintensificationofexperienceinthisarea,whichPlutonecessarily demandsthroughpainorjoy,dependingontheincludedplanets,butmainlyontheamountof couragetoapproachtheproblemastrongerandstrongerawarenessofourownstrength,as prominentinthatrespect.Mostfrequentlythisawarenessisatthelevelofanimalreactiontothe urge;andtheforceoftheplutonifiedplanetisattributedtothepersonalityasawhole,theegobeing identifiedwithit(asasource/causeofthisforce).Thisiswhatweinlifeoftenrecognizeasthelowest aspectofastrologicalScorpio.Heisafraidofeverything,becausehorrifiedofhimself,andthis himselfbeingtheonlythingthathecanholdontomorefirmlythananythingelse,heclutchestoit, rushingintohisowndeath;herushesintoitwiththirst;butminimallyawareoftheveryprocess whileatit. Thefunctionoftheplutonifiedplanetisbeingperceivedastheessentialstrengthofpersonality,but atthesametimeasabarrier;itiswhatgiddilyattractsus,andwhatwefearthemost,becausewe feelthatthereisawellofimmensedepth,intowhichifwepeekalittledeeperwecaneasilyget ourselvesprecipitated.Theplutonifiedplanetisacatalyst,ourpersonalhumanfactorwhichmakes itpossibleforthesuperhumanpowersymbolizedbyPlutotomanifestineverydaylife.Wenow doubtlesslyrecognizetheexistenceofthissuperhumanstrengthconnectedwiththerelatedpartof ourownbeing(i.e.thepartpertainingtotheplanetaspectedbyPluto).Thereisfear,butthereisalso astrongcravingtoexperiencethatparticulartypeofexperienceswithmoreintensityandmorein depth. ThesecondlevelistheleveloftheSnake.Simultaneousabilityofthisanimaltoabidebothinthe heightsandinthedepthscavitiesoftheearth,aswellasitsabilitytoinstantlyswallowananimal muchbiggerthanitself,itsperiodicalchangeoftheskin,anditswayofmoving(withoutlegsand withitswholebody)tellsusalotaboutitssymbolicnature.Thisisthelevelatwhichconsciousness startstoriseupfromthedarknessofautomaticlife. Theplutonifiedplanetisnownolongerconsideredasthewholeofourbeing,norisitidentifiedwith thepersonality,butitbecomesthefocalpointofexperiences/perception,usedasasortof magnifier,thatisalightfilterthroughwhosespecificformallraysdiffract.Theshadowyruler Plutoisstillinvisible,buttheexperienceoftheplanetitselfputintheforegroundenablesgrowthof consciousnessandgraduallygreaterliberationforthewholeofourbeing,throughtheareasoflife andpsychologicalfunctionssymbolizedbytheplutonifiedplanet.Inthecaseof,forexample,strong PlutoaspectwiththeMoon,theLunarsegmentofourbeingbecomesthefocalpoint;the perceptive,receptive,allacceptingandnurturingaspectofournatureisconsciouslyputtoworkin ordertotranscendlimitationsandunderstandpenetratedeepintothewholeofourbeing. Dreams;ourabilitytoexperienceandreproduceimpressionsinpictures;abilitytofeelthestatesof othersviaemotionalimpressions,andthroughthis,initshighestform,abilitytounconditionally acceptotherbeingsastheyare;our(andthatofothers)sexualdriveasitis,freedfromanymoral connotations;etc.(anyotherparticularmanifestationsofLunarpriciple)nowbecometoolsthat canbeusedconsciouslyforthegrowthofthesoul,inthewidestsense.Ourrelationshipswith femalesoutsidemother,sister,femalepartnerandtheFemaleinside,becomemoreopenand theirdynamicsarisemoreclearlytotheawarenessasthatfocalpointthroughwhichweactina mannerclosertoourselvesintheprimordialsense;morepreciselyinwhichwebyinstinctactin accordancewiththeradicalwillofourownbeing.Throughallthephenomena,outerorinner, relatedwiththeLunarsymbolicprinciple,duringthisphasewecanconsciouslygraspthewholeof theArchetypetowhichtheMoonasasymbolpertains,nowusingitasatoolandnotbeingthrown aroundbytheinstincts,norbeingfrightenedbytheurgestowhichthisprincipleisconnected.

Thefinallevel,thatoftheEagle,representsarealstepintothusfarunknown.Thespeed,height, freedomandthesharpvisionwhichcharacterizethisanimaltellusalotaboutthenatureofthis phase.Plutonifiedplanetisnowunderstoodasapuppet,andtheforce(symbolicallyrepresentedby theastrologicalPluto)whichmovesitsointenselycreatingofitfocusofsuperhumanpower strength,isgettingrecognizedasnonpersonalandtranspersonal,universalandeternal,Onesource oflifeasthesymboliccoreoftheSunitself,totheeyenotvisible,andtotheusualstateofmind notrecognizable...thatattherimofoursolar(psychophysical)systemwhichpertainstoitsendbut alsotoitsbeginning.Theessentialsymbolicprinciplei.e.archetypeoftheplutonifiedplanetcannow beexperiencedasagateofInitiation,anopenroadtotranscendenceofthepersonal,limited perceptionofthephenomena,andsubsequentlytransformationofthewholeofonesactioninthe world.Theexperiencesoftheplutonifiedplanetnowbecomefactorsthatdirectlybringfreedom. Althougheveryparticulararchetypeonlypartiallyrepresentsthewholeoftherealityofourbeing, Plutoactivatesthisparticulararchetypeinanabsolutemanner,makingofitapointoftransition intothetranspersonalandallencompassing.Andthatisthefinalresultofthetransformation mentionedinastrologicalliteratureconnectedtothePlutoseffect. Thetermtransformationpertainsactuallytothewholeofthedescribedprocess,butalsotoevery particularoneofitsphases,aswellastotheverytransitionsfromonephasetotheother.Naming andunderstandingthesethreephasesandtheanimalsymbolsconnectedtothemservesusasahelp toconsciouslypassthroughtheprocessofmetamorphosis. Hence,wecanuseeveryplutonifiedplanet(theonewhichPlutotoucheswiththestrongaspectin ournatalhoroscope)asaguidemarkinordertodeepenourselfunderstanding,whichwilllater growintoselfrecognitionandfinallyselftranscendence.Aspirationoftheincarnatebeingis experience(aspecifictypeofexperience,offeredbythatexactincarnationasaconsequenceofall previousones,andpotentialforallfutureones),andtheultimateexperienceofeveryparticular beingisdisappearanceofthisparticularityaseparatestateofIasopposedtoeverythingelse;itis theUnionunderstoodasYoga,asmetaphysicalandqabalisticOne,God,etc.AstrologicalPlutoas anarchetypeoftransformationsymbolizesourlongingforthisultimateexperience.Ifwithconscious awarenessofthislongingweapproachtheprinciples(things,eventsandourownpartsofthe psyche)ofthoseplanetsinournatalhoroscopewhichareinaspectwithPluto,ifweopenourselves forthoseintimationsbywayofwhichthislongingappearsineverydaylife,wecanslowlyleave behindtheenchantedcircleofdestinyandfreewill,andstepbystep,openourviewsevenwider towardthatwhichweare.
