THE ANGELUS

From Easter Sunday until Pentecost Sunday, the following devotion may replace the Angelus.
Blessed Mary, rejoice, alleluia, for the One you bore has risen as he said, alleluia. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia, for the shadows are passing away, and Christ is truly risen, alleluia. (Let us pray.) O God, by the resurrection of your Only-Begotten, you have filled the world with joy. Joining with the constant prayer of Mary, his Mother, grant that we too will experience fully the new life of the Christ, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

The Angelus, a reflection on the incarnation of Christ, is traditionally recited in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. It may be used as a devotion before daily prayer.
The Angel of God came to Mary and said: You will bear a son and name him Jesus. Rejoice, Mary, for God is with you. * Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Blessed is Mary who believed * that Gods word would be fulfilled. Mary said: Here am I, the servant of the Lord; Let it be with me according to your word. Rejoice, Mary.... Blessed is Mary. And the Word became flesh, And lived among us. Rejoice, Mary.... Blessed is Mary. Pray with us, O holy Mother of God, That we may trust the promises of Christ. (Let us pray.) Pour your grace, O God, into our hearts, so that we who have known the incarnation of Christ through the message of an angel, may by his passion and cross experience the glory of his resurrection. Amen.
