Course Objectives
In the start of the course the students will learn the basics of Electro Mechanical systems. The students will be given basic concepts of D. C. Generators, Induction Machines, Three phase induction Motors, Squirrel Cage , Wound Rotor Machines and Induction Generator with their application. The students will be able to apply design factors guiding construction of D. C. Motors, Single Phase Induction Motors, Synchronous Machines, and Synchronous Speed. The course will also include Synchronous Generators and their applications. The students will be well versed with Construction and Principles and operation of Stepper Motor. Transformers, their construction including Ideal Transformer, Practical Transformers their equivalent circuits, Losses and cooling in three phase transformers.
