Come and meet Rocket the Reindeer!
This sensational 3D Christmas show is coming to Garsons. Rocket has lost one of his antlers and, with the help of his friends, must find the magical sparkles that grow the antler back! Elves Pip and Pop, the Magical Wishfairy and co all help along the way, in this 3D adventure. Once the film is viewed, children and adults also visit Santas Workshop, where they will receive a gift. Opening hours and tickets for this exciting event are available online, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. The event is open from Saturday 26th November. Winter plants for indoors and out
Keep the colour in your borders with late-flowering herbaceous euphorbia, heuchera, aster and sedums. Add interest with skimmias, azaleas, acers, rhododendrons, topiary and bay. Choose from differently coloured camellias and pretty cyclamen in shades of red and white as a thoughtful gift for the gardener in your life. Or surprise them with a planted arrangement to brighten up the winter patio. Have a pine-scented home with a Christmas tree from Garsons. The varieties are UK grown with non-drop needles and are available in lots of sizes and pruned to the perfect shape. Complete your natural decorations with a real wreath and festive garlands, along with foliage bundles and real mistletoe. Poinsettia plants can last for weeks beyond the holidays when placed in indirect sunlight for at least six hours a day. Protect from cold drafts and excessive heat, and stop from drying out. The air can be dry at Christmas, so it may need more water. When the blooming season is over, use an all-purpose fertiliser monthly for best results.

Caring for your Christmas tree

If you would like your tree to last beyond the festive season, get one thats been pot grown. The trees we have in the Garden Centre have been reared to give a good root system. Bring it indoors at the last minute and keep it well watered and sprayed. Put it back outside after Christmas, in a sheltered spot for the first few days while it acclimatises. If its not frosty, you can either plant it in the ground or put in a bigger pot if you want to bring it indoors again next year. How to keep your fresh-cut tree looking at its best: stand it in water overnight before bringing it indoors remove one inch from the base to allow water uptake and keep it fresh give it up to a pint of water each day to keep it in peak condition, but be careful of the electrics if you have fairy lights try to position it in the coolest part of the room

Hairy Bikers call on Garsons

You might have seen the Hairy Bikers BBC2 mission to save Meals on Wheels. Garsons at Esher took part in the edition filmed in Elmbridge, featuring the Meals on Wheels service at the Molesey Centre. Cameras roamed round the Garden Centre and a big batch of herbs were donated to the Molesey Centre so they could make a handy herb garden (pictured). Now local meals on wheels have the benefit of fresh-picked herbs to give extra flavour to the hot food delivered to the elderly.
