solution:- to calibrate a battery pack, you must fully charge, fully discharge, and then fully
recharge the battery pack.
right-click the power icon on the taskbar and select adjust power properties, or select start →
control panel → performance and maintenance → power options → power schemes
make a note of all settings in the plugged in column and all settings in the running on batteries
column, so you can reset them after calibration.
use the lists to set each item in both columns to never.
select ok.
disconnect the notebook from the external power source, but do not turn off the notebook.
run the notebook on battery power until the battery pack is fully discharged. when the battery
pack is fully discharged, the battery light turns off and the notebook shuts down.
caution! after calibrating the battery pack, reenable hibernation. to reenable hibernation, select
start → control panel → performance and maintenance → power options → hibernate tab, and
then select the enable hibernation check box

solution:-
the sony branded msac-m2 duo adapter is incompatible with many hp and compaq notebooks.
when inserted into the 6-in-1 card reader, the case shorts the power and ground pins, causing
the notebook pc to shutdown. the media card and the card reader may also be damaged.
the memory stick duo adapter is coated with conductive material, which shorts the power and
ground pins when inserted.
remove the duo adapter and restart the notebook. if the notebook functions properly, do not

problem_description : windows hangs up when i try to shut down. this occurs the moment that i
hit start and i'm asked whether i want to shut down, restart or standby. when i hit alt-ctrl-delete, i
am able to continue the shut down process with task manager, but the process stops at
"windows is shutting down" and i'm forced to turn off the computer manually with the power
button.
trouble_shooting : i've done virus and spyware scans, updated the bios, turned off all power
options, checked to see if it might be a sound file issue (it wasn't), deleted temporary internet
files, cleared history, cleared ssl state.
setting_changes : the problem seemed to start after i played a streaming video of a weather
forecast from a tv channel website.
