TIP: There are several formatting options that can help to reduce the number of pages for an assessment. The most effective we have found so far is Change layout from single to multiple column for longer assessments.

1. Log on to Global Scholar 2. Select Upload Response Sheets from the left hand menu bar 3. Click browse to locate your scantron file. TIP: If you are using your schools shared scanning folder there may be lots of files in the folder. The best way to do this is to view the files using the detailed view. This will show the date and time when the files were created. If you scroll all the way to the bottom, you should see the most recently loaded files there. You can also first save the scantrons to your own folder and load them from there.
4. Once you locate and select your file, click Upload All Files 5. It will take a few minutes for the file to load. To check the status, click on the School option in the left hand menu bar 6. Click on Assignments in the menu bar that goes across the top of the screen 7. You will see your assignment in the list. 8. Click your browsers refresh button. You will see the status of your test start to change as the data is loaded. The number of submissions will increase, and you may see a message like this:
2. Click on the red requires review message and you will be taken to the tests that require review.
In some cases the student response is displayed. In the example above, GS cannot determine if the student selected B or D. Since the correct answer is D, you have to investigate further. In some cases, you may have to click on Full Screen to see the scanned student scantron to determine whether or not to award points. Scanning errors means that the sheet that did not scan must be rescanned and re-uploaded. You can scan individual sheets or groups of sheets that did not scan. You did not need to rescan an entire test if one sheet did not scan.
TIP: If the test does not scan on the 2nd attempt, here are some tricks that may work: Darken the setting on the photocopier and rescan Turn the scan sheet upside down and rescan Make a photocopy of the scan sheet and rescan If all else fails, print that students scan sheet from the original PDF file and bubble in their answer and rescan
