COEDUCATIONAL STATEMENT
The following Statement was shared with Member Organizations at the 34th World Conference in Edinburgh in July this year. At the 115th Meeting of the World Board in September 2011, the World Board adopted the Statement:

WAGGGS Statement on Delivering the Mission

The Mission of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is to enable girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world. It provides the framework for the work of our Member Organizations, their organization and structure and for the support offered by WAGGGS to its Member Organizations. 1. WAGGGS Mission can be delivered in both single sex and coeducational settings. Depending on the social and cultural setting and the needs and wishes of the girls and young women, Member Organizations choose the most appropriate setting to deliver the Mission. 2. WAGGGS recognizes that the boys and men who are members of WAGGGS and/or are members of a Scout and Guide National Organization (SAGNO) make a valuable contribution to delivering the Mission of WAGGGS. 3. The Policy on education of girls and young women in WAGGGS recognizes that the educational methods in both single sex and co-educational environments offer different benefits. 4. WAGGGS is committed to supporting all Member Organizations in their work and will seek innovative ways to provide the support relevant to the different settings in which our Members are operating.
