Nu Flow Has Lined All of the Navys Aircraft Carriers

Project: Rehabilitate the failing collection, hold and transfer (CHT) systems in the United States Navys fleet of aircraft carriers. As a result of their faith in our solutions, there is a naval standard for coating the pipe systems that is based on our pipe lining technology.

System: The copper-nickel CHT system, which is the waste drain system for the vessels, is located throughout the aircraft carriers. The pipe lines ranged from 4" to 6" in width and averaged 1,200 feet in length. Situation: The CHT system has a very corrosive environment because it has waste and seawater traveling through it. The pipes would deteriorate within a year and a half of being placed in service. Some of the resulting leaks occurred in the ceilings in sleeping quarters and mess halls, so the customer knew that a long-term fix must be applied. Solution: American Pipe Lining, a Nu Flow company, cleaned and lined the CHT systems with our blown-in epoxy coating. This barrier has prevented corrosion, leaks and other failures in these CHT systems since APL did the work. The U.S. Navy chose Nu Flows technology for their aircraft carriers because when compared with a re-pipe for the vessels, our in-place solution is about 1/10 of the cost and the work was completed in less than half the time. As a result of their faith in our solutions, there is a naval standard for coating the pipe systems that is based on our pipe lining technology.
