WHAT: First Annual Missoula County Sheriffs Office

Chaplain Benefit Dinner

WHEN: Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 7:00 PM WHERE: First Lutheran Church, 2808 South Ave W, Missoula RSVP @ 258-4810

WHY:
Members of the Missoula County Sheriffs Office and countless community members have benefited greatly from the services Chaplain Chuck Lee provides and now its our turn to help. That is why the Missoula County Deputy Sheriffs Association is hosting this first annual event. The dinner which will be $15 per plate includes an Original Italian Recipe spaghetti dinner and a short program that will include testimonies from several emergency workers and community members whose lives have been touched by Chaplain Lee. There will also be a change to win some awesome raffle prizes. Chaplain Chuck Lee has over 23 years of experience as a pastor. In 2002, he began serving as a volunteer chaplain for the Missoula County Sheriffs Office. In 2006, Chaplain Lee agreed to a contract with the Sheriffs Office. Although the position requires more than forty hours of work each week, the Sheriffs Office budget only allows for minimal funding for the contract. As a result, Chaplain Lee depends on donations from community members to help make ends meet.

In addition to Chaplain Lees experience as a pastor, he has a variety of certifications and training which equip him to serve the emergency responders of Missoula County with expertise and professionalism. He has the endorsement of Sheriff Carl Ibsen, the Missoula County Deputy Sheriffs Association and other emergency services. He has served as the Vice-Chairman of the Montana Law Enforcement Chaplains since 2003 and has been a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains since 2004. He also serves on the Missoula Valley CISM (Crisis Management) team and state-wide committees such as The Montana Alliance for Drug Endangered Children. Chaplain Lee provides a lot of meaningful services to our community which includes but is not limited to; Support law enforcement officers and other members of a department in their duties Support the families of law enforcement officers and other department personnel Visit sick or injured officers and departmental personnel in homes and hospitals Help Officers make death notifications Provide assistance to victims of crime and tragedy Provide information to officers in areas such as Stress Management, Ethics, and Family Life Assist Coroners at suicides and other unattended deaths Serve as liaison with other clergy and members of the faith community Offer prayers at special occasions such as awards ceremonies, banquets and conferences Serve on review boards, award boards, and other committees Officiate at wedding ceremonies and funerals
