Portable Density Meter: DMA 35


The DMA 35 portable density meter measures the density and concentration of samples on-site. For use in hazardous areas an Ex version is available. The housing of the DMA 35 Ex Petrol version is resistant to petrols and similar organic samples. Results are given as density and concentration, such as Brix, % v/v alcohol and API gravity.

External Measuring Cell: DMA HP/HPM


The external measuring cells DMA HP and DMA HPM measure density and specific gravity at high sample pressures and/or high temperatures. It is used on samples with a high viscosity and/or high melting point or softening range such as bitumen, pitch or concentrated polymer solutions. Density and Sound Velocity Meter: DSA 5000 M


Accuracy, density: 0.000005 g/cm3 Accuracy, sound velocity: 0.5 m/s Accuracy, concentration: Typically 0.01 to 0.1 % Measuring time per sample: 1 to 4 minutes DSA 5000 M automatically determines the density and sound velocity of samples. This allows determination of the concentration of sulfuric acid and oleum in the concentration range from 0 to 114 % H2SO4, and determination of the concentration of three-component samples. It provides automatic viscosity correction of the results.

Beverage Analysis
Beverage Analysis: PBA-B and PBA-S/SI Generation M
Anton Paar provides beverage analysis systems for beer, soft drinks and soft drinks with sugar inversion. In a single work step the beverage is measured directly from the package, without sample preparation. Depending on customers requirements, it determines original extract, alcohol, extract, Brix, CO2 and optionally O2 content. The typical measuring time is 2 to 5 minutes.

Beer Analyzing System: Alcolyzer Beer ME

Alcohol Analysis Systems: Alcolyzer Wine/Plus Spirits


Alcolyzer Wine measures the alcohol content of wine and sparkling wine using a patented NIR measuring method. Other sample constituents do not influence the alcohol analysis. Alcolyzer Plus Spirits determines alcohol (35-65 % vol), color and the pH value of alcoholic beverages. Both systems are optionally combined with a density meter to determine further parameters such as the total extract. Portable CO2 Meter: CarboQC


The CarboQC carbonation meter determines the true amount of dissolved carbon dioxide in beverages. The measurement is not influenced by other dissolved gases. When combined with the PFD Filling Device, sample is taken directly from the package and measured by CarboQC with no loss of CO2 during sample transfer.

CO2/O2 Measuring Module: CarboQC ME with Option O2


The CarboQC ME CO2/O2 measuring module determines the true amount of dissolved carbon dioxide and dissolved oxygen in soft drinks, beer and sparkling water. The CO2 measurement is performed based on the patented Multiple Volume Expansion method. The optional O2 measurement is carried out with an optochemical sensor. The measuring module can be used in Anton Paars Generation M analysis systems PBA-S, PBA-SI and PBA-B. Automatic Saccharimeters: MCP 200/250 & MCP 300/500 Sucromat


Anton Paars high-precision saccharimeters are used to analyze Z (International Sugar Scale) in the sugar industry. While MCP 200/300 measure at 589 nm, MCP 250/500 measure at two wavelengths, 589 nm and 880 nm, which enables the instruments to measure strongly colored filtrates that cannot be measured in the visible range.

Multiple Parameter Analysis
As an alternative to using a number of single instruments, Anton Paar now provides complete systems for measuring a series of parameters in one cycle. Each modular system is configured to measure the parameters required.

Example: Brewing Industry


PBA-B Generation M combines an Alcolyzer Beer ME, a density meter (DMA 5000 M or DMA 4500 M), the CarboQC ME, and the PFD filling device. A measuring cycle takes 4 minutes, with no sample preparation required. The sample is measured directly from the package in a closed system, without loss of CO2 or alcohol. Measured parameters: Alcohol, extract, original extract, CO2, apparent extract, degree of fermentation, calories, color and pH value.

Dynamic Viscosity: AMVn Automated Microviscometer


AMVn determines the relative, kinematic or dynamic viscosity of transparent and opaque liquids. It can also calculate the dilute solution viscosity, intrinsic viscosity, relative viscosity and other properties of polymer solutions. Measurement is possible with as little as 150 L sample volume.

Kinematic Viscosity: SVM 3000 Stabinger Viscometer


The SVM 3000 Stabinger Viscometer measures the dynamic viscosity and density of oils and fuels according to ASTM D7042. From this result, the viscometer automatically calculates the kinematic viscosity and delivers measurement results which are equivalent to ISO 3104 or ASTM D445. QC Rheometer: RheolabQC
RheolabQC is a rotational quality control rheometer with a powerful, dynamic EC motor drive for fast and convenient viscosity measurement and routine rheological checks. The instrument is used for investigations into the flow and deformation behavior of emulsions, dispersions, coatings, gels and pastes. RheolabQC can be operated in controlled shear rate (CSR) and controlled shear stress (CSS) mode.

Process Density Sensors and Evaluation Units
Anton Paars density sensors continuously monitor the product quality of liquids online during production. The temperature-compensated density or concentrations such as Brix, % Alcohol, % H2SO4 and API index are either calculated and displayed by an mPDS 5 evaluation unit or calculated by the sensor and provided as a 4-20 mA signal.

Process Density and Sound Velocity Sensors


Example applications: - Alcohol, real extract and original extract in beer (Beer Monitor) - Saccharose solutions and partly inverted sugar - Formaldehyde/methanol/water - NaOH/NaCl in water The DSRn 427 and DSRn 427S density and concentration sensors combine the measurement of density and sound velocity in one compact instrument. The mPDS evaluaton unit determines density, sound velocity and temperature and uses these values to calculate the concentration of three-component liquids.

Process Sound Velocity Sensors


Anton Paars sound velocity sensors are used for inline concentration measurements, phase separation or product identification. Depending on the sensor, the concentration is either calculated and displayed by an mPDS evaluation unit or calculated by the sensor and provided as a 4-20mA signal. Sensors are available for aggressive and corrosive liquids and for low flow rates. L-Vis 510 is an inline viscometer which is immersed directly in the production liquid. It continuously displays the viscosity and temperature of lubricants, starch adhesives, suspensions and many more process liquids, allowing 24-hour production monitoring.

Inline CO2 Sensor: Carbo 510


Carbo 510 is an inline CO2 sensor which continuously monitors the CO2 content of beverages. It has a hygienic design, constructed according to EHEDG guidelines. The display can be positioned up to 250 meters from the installed sensor. Using an Adjustable Gap Cell with SurPASS allows the zeta potential to be determined on small samples with a rectangular or disk shape. Samples as small as 20 mm x 10 mm can be measured.
