FRASER MUGGERIDGE Fraser Muggeridge studio (Fraser Muggeridge, Sarah Newitt, Stephen Barrett and Joe Hales) is a graphic

design company based in Clerkenwell, London. Throughout a wide range of formats, from artists books and exhibition catalogues to posters, maps and postcard invites, the studio prioritises artists and writers content over the imposition of a signature style. By allowing images and texts to sustain their own intent and impact, each project is approached with an elegantly pared-down aesthetic, with colour, typography, paper stock and format playing a key role in arriving at a sympathetic yet subtly alluring object. Fraser Muggeridge founded and is a tutor at Typography Summer School, a week-long programme of typographic study in London for recent graduates and professionals. This website has been designed with and coded by Wolfram Wiedner. ONLAB onlab specializes in graphic design with a compelling story to tell is not an ordinary design studio. Based in Berlin, it both works with clients and creates its own books, and operates around a single philosophy: that design is a narrative that can change how people approach the world. The Swiss graphic design agency onlab founded in 2001 and based in Berlin, Germany works on commissioned, collaborative as well as self initiated design projects. The focus of the commissioned work lies in editorial design and visual communication projects. Various platforms and activities enable onlab to develop innovative approaches and strategies as well as solution-oriented and structured working methods while looking at cultural differences and similarities in a subjective manner. onlabs core strategic goal is to link content and production aesthetics with elements of topicality. onlab explores ways to stage complex content and convey relevant topics while changing and playing with common perceptions. The essence of a task and of a project is always perceived as the guide to solving and unfolding an emotional and accessible dimension to it. Some of the main projects of onlab involved the visual identity of the city of Tramelan, the redesign of the Italian architecture magazine domus, the design and conception of the German contribution to the architecture Biennale in Venice 2008 and various successful book projects. The team is headed by Nicolas Bourquin, founder and creative director of onlab. He lives and works as a creative director and publisher in Berlin. He was born in Switzerland in 1975 where he studied graphic design at the School of Design in Biel. Nicolas was co-editor and designer of Los, Dos and Tres Logos and Data Flow 1 + 2 (Gestalten). In 2003 he co-founded the independent publishing house etc publications. Since April 2010 Nicolas and Thibaud Tissot have been holding a visiting professorship at the Bauhaus Weimar. Thibaud has been on board as artistic director of onlab since 2007. He was born in La Chauxde-Fonds in 1984 where he studied graphic design at the Design Academy. Until 2007 he had been operating Dynamo, an independent platform for self initiated design projects. Niloufar Tajeri recently joined onlab as managing director. She was born in Tehran in 1980 and she was trained in architecture at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. Before joining she had been operating in the field of publishing, cultural management and design consultancy. onlab Nicolas Bourquin Oderberger Strae 11 10435 Berlin Germany T: +49 (0)30 80 61 58 80 U2, M1, M10 Eberswalder Strae

Who the hell is Eike? Eike is the creator of HORT. HORT - a direct translation of the studios mission. A creative playground. A place where work and play can be said in the same sentence. An unconventional working environment. Once a household name in the music industry. Now, a multi-disciplinary creative hub. Not just a studio space, but an institution devoted to making ideas come to life. A place to learn, a place to grow, and a place that is still growing. Not a client execution tool. HORT has been known to draw inspiration from things other than design. It is encouraged that you dont see the work displayed on this website as a library of ideas and visual styles to pick and choose from, but a showcase of our capabilities and achievements. HORT are willing to give most things a go. I mean how are you supposed to learn if you dont try. Right? Whether its an illustration for WALLPAPER* or THE NEW YORK TIMES; creating an interior hotel space for Volkswagens PROJECT FOX; working for the big guns i.e. NIKE and UNIVERSAL MUSIC; endeavoring with smaller companies like GET PHYSICAL MUSIC; or simply initiating something ourselves. We like to inform people creatively or in a way that makes information easier to understand; working for companies that are starting off and need some assistance in establishing themselves; illustrating a companies personality by developing a brand; creating a visual connection with some music and its listener; translating the artwork of an album beyond its sleeve; working with or for people and companies in other creative fields. Whether its a poster for a theatre company, a catalogue for an art exhibition or working collaboratively with people of other design disciplines.

STOUT / KRAMER Stout/Kramer? Marco Stout, Evelyne Kramer and Rinus Van Dam. What does Stout/Kramer do? Are you graphic designers? We are trained as graphic designers. The profession is constantly changing and as we see it, can no longer be defined. Our way of working distinguishes itself by being conscious of the position the designer can take in the process. We dont want to set ourselves up as merely designers of a message. We see ourselves as editors and directors of communication. As editor the designer interprets the content and context of a message. As director the designer is responsible for the appropriate means of communication. Does your work have a recognizable style? Yes, definitely. The final solutions are the result of an analytical and rational way of thinking and working. The design is simple, clear, without fuss. Dutch. Which influences do you recognise? At the moment we are doing a lot of research into communication within organisations. This research significantly influences our thinking about the designers position. In addition, we recognise design influences such as Modernism/Swiss style, the 80s and contemporary art, architecture and fashion. And of course music. Besides your projects you work on commercial projects and projects for the Dutch government. How do you go about this? The freedom that we know from cultural projects and projects for the Dutch government. Likewise we try to reintroduce the strategic aspect into the cultural projects. Do you work collaborate with other people? We regularly work with people from various disciplines such as photographers, interior designers, fashion designers, art historians and experts in organisations. What are your ambitions? Many. Good projects and study (again). Projects which need a structural solution. This could be a purely design related commission like a book, or a communication query, e.g. a visual identity or a long-term organisation communication project. What is your favourite music? Marco: All is full of love by Bjrk. Evelyne: I have favourite music for each mood. Rinus: Ert Slin by lafur Arnalds. What is your favourite place? New York! New York! Copenhagen! What are you working on at the moment? We are working on a campaign for PAR+RS in Scotland, a new essay for Fonds BKVB, a project for Kesselskramer and more books.
