From our Pastor

Its hard to believe, but we are about to see a vision become a realitya vision that was planted almost 15 years ago in the hearts of the leadership at Northsidea vision that has nothing to do with bigger or better buildings, but rather has everything to do with expanding and enlarging the Kingdom of God. On September 11th, we will have our first service at our brand new location! Now, if you have had a Field of Dreams mentality when it comes to our relocation, let me say very clearly that mentality is not biblical. We have never believed that God whispered in our ear build it and they will come. What we have believed is that to accomplish the mission and vision that God has given us, we must relocate. But accomplishing that mission and vision will require hard work and sacrifice on each of our parts. I think we would all agree that the road leading us to this point has not been without sacrifice. Many of us sacrificed financially to buy the property where were relocating. Many of us sacrificed financially, over the last three years, so we could construct our very first building on our new campus. And we are asking you to continue to sacrifice financially as we seek to be the church God wants us to be. Now I know firsthand that sacrifice is never easy. In fact, sacrifice is always difficult. But dont miss this sacrifice is always worth it! Please understand, sacrifice is not just about giving our moneyits about giving our time, our abilities, our resources, our comfort, our wants, and our preferences for the sake of building Gods Kingdom. You see, a building will never build the Kingdom. People build the Kingdom as they are obedient to the King. So as we prepare for this historic occasion, let me ask: What are you willing to sacrifice as we seek to be a Kingdom minded people? Dont look back on this time in our history and realize that you were sitting on the sidelines rather than giving it all for the King!

amazing thing is that God has shown up in unimaginable ways. One of the ways that God has shown Himself is by providing us with incredible teachers and students. We understand that the three greatest resources in any Christian school is the teachers, the students, and the Holy Spirit. We also know that two of the greatest obstacles are recruiting phenomenal teachers and enrolling students, so by faith we had to trust the Holy Spirit. We are grateful to announce that God has amazingly provided NCA with both superior teachers and wonderful students. Our teachers not only have a passion to serve Jesus Christ and a love for children, but they are highly qualified in their respective fields. More importantly, the greatest qualification is that they are called by faith to obey God and to serve our students! My prayer is that we will all walk by faith as we heed the call of God this 2011-2012 school year at NCA. Head of Schools Pastor Scott Crede

Living by Faith
I believe by faith that the God of the Universe has called Northside Christian Academy to be in existence in Lexington, SC. I believe that by faith that each of you has heard the call of God to be a part of Northside Christian Academy. Just as Abraham by faith, when he was called, obeyed God(Heb. 11:7-9). I believe that each of us has been called by God to start Northside Christian Academy. Therefore, we must obey by faith. The Bible says, Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power. 2 Thes. 1:11 So we ask ourselves; Do the birds of the air worry? Do the lilies of the field worry? No. Nor should we worry, but have faith. We live by faith; not by sight. 2 Cor. 5:7 The Commander-in-Chief of the universe knows our name. He has counted every hair on our head. He loves us, He cares for us, and He wants the very best for us.

So that generations to come might know him. Psalm 78:4

Starting a Christian school has been a true calling and faith journey. Our faith has never been more tested, and our God has never been more faithful!! From the very beginning of this journey we knew that the Academy was bigger than any of us. We trusted this to be His vision, not ours. We have had to trust Him at every turn. The

Mission Appalachia:
Unforgettable: The Appalachia Mission Trip 2011
How do you describe the indescribable? How can you forget the unforgettable? Im talking about the June 4-11 mission trip to Bell and Harlan Counties in Kentucky. I was there. In 40 years of participating in mission and outreach activities, none has ever impacted me as much. We saw the best and worst of what human nature, America, and church life have to offer. The food drive was the best I ever saw. The generosity of the mountain people most of whom have very little themselves was overwhelming. We did VBS at four churches. The kids were wonderful. Many of us shed tears when we had our sharing time the last night. For some of them, who are enduring poverty and/ or dysfunctional families, our annual visits are the highlight of the year. We cleared vegetation off of the future home of New Heights Baptist Church, Pineville. God has given the New Heights leadership a great vision. Some churches and community leaders were initially hostile to that vision, but are being won over. By their truths you shall know them. Perhaps the most notable conversion story was of a woman who approached us on the New Heights property. She was contemplating suicide. She received Christ. Thus, she was saved, physically as well as spiritually. A special shout-out goes to the many of our young people who went. They not only learned missions; they did missions. One of them had an unpleasant encounter with a chain saw. Even she thinks the trip was worth it. We were moved by the robust faith of many of the mountaineers. On the other hand, many are in bondage to legalism, vice, despair, or some combination of the three. Most of the churches are small and have little outreach. But if revival comes to Appalachia, it will change this nation and the world. Is God calling you to go on one or more of our mission trips? If you cant go, is he calling you to sponsor someone? I will be forever grateful to the three brothers in Christ who sponsored me. Think about it. Pray about it. And inform yourself about our different missions options. Then do what God tells you to do.

Friday: In the morning the team will prayer walk around the community of South Bay. Pray for hearts and doors to be open to the gospel. In the evening the team will be working with the City of San Jose to prepare for the Street Dance Festival & Family Fun Fest weekend. South Bay Church will be positioned at this festival with a booth to minister to the people. Pray for meaningful conversations with other participants as the team helps with the set up. Saturday: Pray for the team and South Bay Church during the Street Dance Festival & Family Fun Fest. Pray that this event will be a bridge to the community and that contacts will be made that result in changed lives. Pray that those invited to the church on Sunday will attend. Sunday morning: Pray for the South Bay worship service to be an encouragement and outreach to the community, and that many will come to know Jesus personally. Pray for the team as they help provide counseling during the three worship services. In the afternoon, pray for the team as they set up for the Block Party (food, games, inflatables, etc.). Pray that many people will come and experience the love of Christ through the South Bay Church members and our Northside team. Monday: Pray for safety as the team returns home.
