Slaves Many of the slaves already moved to the North and fought for their freedom, however there was also slaves in the South who were forced to fight for the South. Those who enlisted to fight were not treated well as the other soldiers. Also due to their lack of education and less experience with handling weapons it was difficult them. They were restricted highly restricted to use guns. Women Women just like slaves were not really encouraged to fight. However they were some women who felt the passion to fight in the Civil war and sometimes they were women who would dress up as a men to fight in the war. They were also crafty and were good workers, some also aided the injured soldiers.

Spies Immigrants Many immigrants were involved in the Fight. Even some immigrants served as a General for some battles. European immigrants joined the Union in large numbers since many of them viewed slavery very injustice. They were a big help to the North. Majority of the immigrants there came to America since the North needed workers. Now they served America and fought the Confederate.

Spies were a big role in this Civil War. Information of the Opponent plan became very vital to both armies in the field during the Civil War. Units of spies and scouts reported directly to the commanders of armies in the field. Their job was to find the strong and weak point of the opposing force. However spies had to risk their life in order to find these valuable informations. If a suspect was seized while in disguise and not in his army's uniform, the sentence was often to be hung. Sometimes women were very effective spies.

Camp Life and Life on the Home Front.

The Camp Life

Camp life was not easy condition for soldiers to live in. Their house was tents and during the winter it would get very cold. Meals were cooked outside on the fire, and you could describe it a primitive way of living. 6 or 5 men would have to live in one tent, and space were not the big. Because food sometimes were cooked outside it sometimes resulted food poisoning and easy spread of bacteria. Overall it was not easy for soldiers to live in.

Life on the Home Fronts.

All residents, regardless of whether they became a part of the Union effort, felt the repercussions of war. After secession of the Southern states, many of the states went through an economy shock. The North were doing fine since they were more industrialize, however the South were suffering after Egypt became another source of cotton to Europe. With the departure of men in uniform, farmers faced labor shortages that increased wages for hired hands. Consequently, the increased demand for agricultural products led to a boom in the mechanization of farming. However soldiers still felt that each on of their home might need their help and some deserted.

Effects of the War

There are many things that have happened after the War. The first main event would be the assignation of President Lincoln. There were many conspiracy going on before, and during a theater act, William Booth one of the actors assassinated President Lincoln. This showed that people were still not satisfied with the two state uniting together. The second was many families were separated due to the war. This caused massive chaos and confusion. This led people to migrate around other states. They were also a huge number of Norther state people who moved towards South for a new start, since South had good lands. Third the obvious South and North were united together and slaves were freed man. This was probably the biggest solution to the Civil War problem. However South uniting with the North will cause the economy to go down since the North will have to support the pretty-beat-down Southern states after the war.

Reconstruction
After the war, Lincoln had a big problem and it was to reconstruct both North and South. Both Presidents Lincoln and Johnson favored a lenient approach to reconstruction. It was their belief that the nation would be better off by leaving the past memory of the Civil War behind quickly. Radical Republicans, led by Thadeaus Stevens, argued that the South should be punished for starting the Civil War. Eventually, the arguments between both side would lead to an attempt to impeach and remove President Johnson. Although the official reason for the impeachment of Johnson was his violation in an act. Leaving this behind the main reason for Reconstruction was to prevent invasion from a foreign country. Lincoln did fear that if they showed too much weakness after the Civl War. Action had to be taken and they needed to rebuild their nation back to one piece. However, the arguments between the Radical Republicans caused a delay to the reconstruction. They had to rebuild their country.
