Leadership styles:
The selection of leadership styles incorporates with the choice of company. There are many available choices that can be considered while developing the company. (Sansom) 1. Servant leadership style: This one is introduced by Robert Greenleaf in the 1970s, explains a leader which is not officially renowned as such. When somebody, at any stage within an association, has the leading quality by fulfilling the needs of group, he is known as servant leader. This leadership is a type of selfgoverning leadership, as the whole team is involved in decision making. Supporters of it says to move forward in a world where standards are growing to be important and leaders attain control on the source of their morals and principles, it is an important way. Others say who follow this style can left them to be at last by the leaders who prefer other styles. This style can be helpful when there is an absence of leader so the whole team can finely complete the task by declaring any person as leader e.g. if the manager of the team is not available then the work is carried on by choosing any other person as the leader. 2. Transactional leadership This type begins with the theme that group members decide to follow their leader fully when they start their job. The term transaction means the company paying to workers for their job and obedience. Workers are punished by the leaders if not meet the standards properly. Due to its stress on short-term jobs it seems to be a kind of management. This type has limitations of inventive work, and knowledge-based, but a good options for different situations It's thought to be a "by the book" method in which the individual performs inside the instructions. This style is helpful for big, administrative organizations where everybody is eager to follow the management. Contingency Theory: The Basic theory explains that when mangers take a decision, he must look into all prospects of the existing conditions and perform on that conditions that are important to condition at current. Mainly it is the methodology that has this depends. For example, the ongoing struggle to classify the top management or leadership type could now result that the top style depends on the condition. Systems philosophy has carried a new viewpoint for managers to understand designs and actions in the office. They identify the several portions of the association, and, in specific, the interconnection of the portions, e.g., the synchronization of main management with its plans, working on industrial, controllers with labors, etc. This is a chief expansion. In the history, managers look into one part then the other one. Tesco is perusing the strategy of increasing their sales because it is the largest retailer market in UK. Its capital is on 2nd number after wall mart. Their strategy is to boost up sales by increasing more customers in existing stores or new customer in new channel or new geographic. They provide services and products both to develop their growth strategy.
Management theories describe the method to handle the team and employs and implement big outcome on growth strategies. If Tesco took the decisions on the base of situation than it can more improve their sales? System theory also put great effect on growth strategy, in this all work is done in a systematic manner. Input used to process the data and then output is given. If the sales department does not work with system theory then they cannot achieve their goals of sales. Leadership strategies also put great effects on the growth strategy of Tesco. Contingency theory tells that decisions are taken on the base of situations. If the sales of the year are expected to boost more than there should be more stock about sales. Trait strategy tells that the person who is
leader should have all qualities to do all types of work. If he handles the work than it can boost the sales.
