Secondary Library Assistant/Fulltime beginning Aug 10 2011 The roles and responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to - Research information from various sources to support teaching & learning - Produce library publications to promote library programmes, activities and resources e.g. booklets, brochures, leaflets, forms, bookmarks, etc - Prepare relevant library displays - Handle loans and returns of library resources - Administer reservation system of library resources - Answer staff and student enquiries - Monitor the use of AV equipment and ICT facilities - Edit and maintain the library records and data - Upload data to Library system from internal & external sources - Process new library resources (receiving, accessioning, editing records...) - Maintain the regular supply of magazine & newspapers subscriptions - Repair /discard old library resources as necessary - Re-shelve books daily and maintain the tidiness of the library - Conduct annual stock check of library resources, discard outdated/damaged items - Prepare overdue reminders and bills for staffs and students - Process the application of staff, students & parents. Input and update the records of library users - Managing and distribution of correspondence as necessary - Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives

Primary Librarian/Temporary beginning Aug 24, 2011 - May 31, 2012 The roles and responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to: - Collaborate with teachers on effective integration of information resources and technologies into student learning - Maintain literacy as a high priority by engaging students in reading, viewing and listening for understanding and enjoyment - Involve students in the operation of the Library to contribute to their understanding - Provide access to resources through efficient and well-guided systems - Provide specialist assistance to students using the OPAC and school databases - Ensure that the day-to-day administration of the Library is efficient - Provide a stimulating environment and showcase student learning achievements - Undertake cataloguing and classification procedures - Assist with the provision of reference and research services - Assist in the collection, recording and preparation of information Personal skills and attributes: - Library diploma and/or Primary school experience desirable - Good interpersonal and communication skills - Knowledge of Oliver Library system an advantage - A friendly manner in relation to staff and students is essential - An ability to communicate clearly in English is essential Position would suit someone seeking experience in School Librarianship in an International school. Deadline: 25 May 2011 Temp /Part Time Executive Assistant II/III (Library) - Immediately Required REF.: LRC/Term EA (L)/03-2011 Major duties: Urgently invite right candidates to perform library duties, mainly in cataloguing, and also including circulation, acquisition, serials & others, on a regular shift basis including evenings and weekends on either Full Time or Part Time basis. Requirements: (a) (i)5 passes including English Language (Syllabus B), Chinese Language & Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; or (ii) a recognized Certificate/Diploma, or a Foundation Diploma/Foundation Certificate, in relevant disciplines, or Project Yijin; (b) Knowledge and experience in AACR2 and LC Classification with relevant training; (c) Experience in Library Millennium System or customer services are required / preference; (d) Proficiency in the use of computer application software, including MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; (e) Good inter-personal and communication skills; ability to work well in a team & also work at different locations subject to the operation needs of the Council; (f) Good work initiative and customer-oriented and ability to handle physical work; and
