Hello everyone, there seems to be a lot of confusion on how to use Phoenix so if you are confused you have come to the right place. Below is a link for the program:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: There is a difference between the directions in the thread and the directions in the screenshots. My directions are for general use. The directions in the screenshots are similar but are more specific to Cod:MW3. First off these images are NOT mine. I think credit goes to BOOZEGUY for this

Description of Phoenix Phoenix is a program that lets you unpack *.sim (Steam Install Manifest) files which essentially allows you to bypass Steam installing your game. The benefit of doing s allows you to be one step ahead of others. An example is while your friends are waiting for the retail copy and crack to be released, all you have to do is wait for the crack because you used Phoenix to install. How to use Phoenix 1. Open Phoenix 2. Click on Instruments and move your mouse over to Update ContentDescriptionRecord (This gets you the most recent Decryption keys available.) Note: The farther away from the release date, the less likely a chance the keys for your game will be available. 3. After you have updated your CDR, click on Instruments again, click SID Unpacker Note: Update your CDR everytime you run Phoenix 4. Click on the "..." of SIM-file to find your SIM file. 5. Choose a destination folder for the extracted files to go. Note: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR DESTINATION FOLDER IS NOT THE SAME AS THE FOLDE WITH YOUR *.SIM FILE. 6. Click on "Scan a SIM-file" 7. Click on "Select all" 8. Now hit unpack Congratulations! You have successfully unpacked your game using Phoenix! Common Errors:
^^ This error means that the decryption keys have not yet been released for the game you are trying to unpack. Solution: Update your CDR at a later time, then try again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If anyone has any questions feel free to send me a PM or simply send a reply! I'd like to take the time to thank you for reading my tutorial. Also, thanks to Boozeguy for the screens, WBB and all of its fantastic members that have helped me through the years!
