The figure shows the block diagram of DTMF Code Lock.It consist of a DTMF decoder, a binary comparator, BCD set wheel, AND gates, monoshot , counter and a relay switch..

DTMF DECODER It is used to decode the DTMF tone received. The microphone receives the DTMF sound from the user keyed mobile phone and extent to the DTMF decoder which is having amplifier and decoding circuits. This decoded tone is given to the magnitude comparator. BCD SET WHEEL It is used to set the predefined four digits, which is used for operating the lock system, as one of the input of the magnitude comparator. BINARY COMPARATOR It compares the two input, one from DTMF receiver and the other from BCD set wheel. If both inputs are equal, the output of the comparator goes high. COUNTER It helps to set the incoming digits in the correct order. It set the first dialed digit as the first input of the AND gate. NAND GATE It has two input, one from the comparator and the other from the counter. The output of the NAND gate goes low when both of the input becomes high. MONOSHOT

The output of the NAND gate act as the trigger of the monoshot. The trigger is active low. When the output of the NAND gate becomes low, the output of the monoshot becomes high. The output of the monoshot is fed to the base of the transistor.

RELAY SWITCH

It consist of a magnetizing coil. A transistor is used to magnetize the coil. It is used for locking and unlocking. DTMF CODE LOCK
This special code lock has no keyboard, but instead responds to DTMF tones, as produced by any modern mobile phones or of course a pocket DTMF generator. Since no one who leaves their house these days without their mobile phone ( although they might forget their front door key ), almost any one will be able to use this device. The lock presents to the outside only a microphone capsule and four LEDs, which shows the status of the unit. Their function will not be obvious to the uninitiated. The electronics consists mainly of standard components and contains no programmable devices at all. The microphone receives the DTMF sound from the user keyed mobile phone and extent to the DTMF decoder which is having amplifier and decoding circuits. The binary out from the DTMF decoder sent to a binary comparator which is prefixed the BCD to compare with the help of thumb wheel like mechanisms. The output of each digit extended from DTMF decoder is counted by a counter and extended to an AND gate enable the succeeding monoshot. This is further connected to a driver circuit and relay to control the door mechanisms.
