Comments: Kasey has done a nice job becoming part of the classroom community. It is obvious she cares about the students and enjoys leading the instruction. Continue to work on classroom management as this is an area that requires constant attention.

For example, does the candidate: give clear and explicit directions to the students? listen effectively to students? provide appropriate verbal and nonverbal feedback to students? ask appropriate and thoughtful questions of the cooperating teacher and other colleagues? interact positively and professionally with colleagues? interact positively and professionally with parents?

Comments: Kasey has done a nice job giving the students positive feedback and specific praise during her instruction. She explains what she expects from the students and gives them clear directions. Kasey has had some interaction with parents as they drop their children off at school and at other times as well.

Comments: Kasey continues to learn what is expected in the Kindergarten classroom and how to make that instruction work for her students. Continue to model what you want your students to do during your instruction as it sets them up for success. Mary and Kasey often co-teach lessons together which works very well in the classroom.

Comments: Its obvious Kasey has put time and effort into planning the instruction she presents to the students. She is prepared for her lessons and continues to work on maintaining student interest.

Comments: Kasey has done individual assessments of letter recognition, personal information, number recognition. Observed a student get an ESL assessment. She also implements informal assessment and checks for understanding during her instruction.

Comments: Kasey attends any meeting she can with Mary. She is attending a district-wide collaboration meeting this afternoon. Shes attended committee meetings, faculty meetings as well.
