2) National -9%

From the pie chart it is clear that LG. Electronics is the Leading company
in Microwave which has overtaken all other companies and has a share of 37 % which
doesn’t provide any company as challenger and hence remaining companies may be
termed as follower or nicer and has a great scope for improvement in future.

As per the information collected from different dealers and other sources,
the market share of the companies were found to be :
1) LG - 22 %
2) Carrier - 17 %
3) National - 12.8 %
4) Samsung - 11 %
5) Videocon - 9.2 %

As per the pie chart LG may called the leader which has 22 % market
share below that Carrier may be called as challenger with 17 % market shares and other
companies are follower and nicer.

INTRODUCTION
As we are living in the age of ‘e’ i.e. electronics which has became a part
of day to day life which has even penetrated the hearts of our kitchens. The world has
become a global village with all ready short cuts available.
While going through A & M magzine of April 2001 issue I came to know
about the market share of microwave ovens which surprised me to take this as my market
survey. So I decided to go in details for survey & knowledge about microwaves which
was shocking as the market share showed a great fluctuation from company to company
which was done in few major cities of India as per A & M magzine.
The microwave oven seems to be “ female friendly and preferred by chefs
of big Hotels due to the following advantages of retaining nutrition and hygiene,
maintains freshness and taste, saves immense time and energy, oil free cooking, even and
easy cooking of variety of recipes which can be easily cooked with complete safety.
Hence due to these reasons customers are getting attracted towards
microwave oven for cooking and has become a part of kitchen.
The Report will try to focus on top companies of Microwaves ovens.
