How to construct OHTL (220Kv or 500Kv):I. Engineering Works. Method of statements:1.

Collect the surveying maps for the area which the route passes through in and the maps should be new to indicate any new exciting works. 2. Draw 2 or 3 proposal routes on the surveying maps. 3. After studying all the proposal routs, the suitable route of the OHTL should be chosen and approved after getting the acceptances from all the concerning authorities. 4. Carrying out the survey works for the route. 5. Preparing the line profile for the route indicated the topographic of the earth and the levels of it for 50 Mt width perpendiculars to the rout (25 Mt from each side from left and right). 6. Design of the OHTL based on the line profile to determine tower types and the height of each tower (the height of each tower depends on the allowable vertical clearances at the lowest point of the conductors between ay tow towers as specified in the specification of OHTL). 7. Carrying out tower Spotting based on the distance between towers. 8. Carrying out Soil investigation for each 1 or 2 km and at each angle tower. 9. Carrying out the site and laboratory tests for soil samples for each whole (mechanical and chemical tests). 10.Preparing the soil investigation report based on the results of sample testes indicating the recommendation of foundation types and the foundation types are as the following:a-) isolated footing. b-) isolated footing with straps. c-) raft foundation. d-) pile foundation. 11.Preparing the design calculations and the executive drawings for each tower type Based on the soil investigation report and the loads which to be acted on the towers. The loads which to be acted on the tower due to the following, a. Vertical loads (weight of tower, conductors, insulator strings, the workers and equipment to be used during erecting the insulator strings and the stringing works). b. horizontal loads:Page 1 of 4

b.1) Transversal load (wind pressure on the conductor, the steel of tower and the component of tension on the conductor). b.2) Longitudinal load (the tension on conductor in the broken wire condition). 12.Carrying out the mix design for both PCC and RCC based on the characteristic of PCC and RCC according to the specification. 13.Carrying out all testes which to be required such as:a. Concrete Materials tests (mechanical and chemical tests). b. Concrete testes (cubes and core test if it is required). c. Type test for the towers (if it is required). d. Type testes for Conductor & earth wire & optic fiber & Insulators and fittings (if it is required). e. Destructive test for the towers if it is required.

Civil Works:Method of statements:-

1. Carrying out access Roads for the towers as specified in the specification. 2. Carrying out Platforms for the towers which located in lakes or fish ponds area according to the design drawings. 3. Dewatering Works for the tower locations and dewatering methods as the following :a) Surface dewatering b) Wall Point system. c) Deep well. 4. Excavation works for the tower footings and the excavation sides should be sloped by suitable slope to avoid any collapsing for the soil or retain the excavation Colom by any suitable method. 5. Replacement Materials for the tower footings (if it is required) and replacement materials which be used are coarse gravel, graded gravel with sand, graded gravel, sand or crashed aggregate as recommended and specified. 6. Carrying out the Plain Concrete. 7. Erection and adjustment of Stub angles for each tower by using template or props. 8. Fabrication and Erection of Steel Reinforcement and Shuttering for tower footings.

9. Carrying out the Reinforced Concrete for Footings (Bad & Chimney). 10.Carrying out the curing of the reinforced concert by water or any curing material approved by the designer. 11.Carrying out the painting of the reinforced concrete surface to prevent any water passes through the voids of the concert surface. 12.Carrying out the backfilling for the tower footings and the backfilling should be executed in layers and each layer should be not more than 25 or 30 cm and compacted to arrive 95% from the density of the backfilling materials.

Erection works. Method of statements:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Transporting of tower steel from the port to the stockyard. Transporting the tower steel from the stockyard to the tower locations. Sorting, Laying and assembling the steel members as a sections. Erecting of the steel of tower by using derrick or lift crane. Tightening of bolts by using the Turk winch. Erection of the ant clamping devices, warning and numerical Plates after complete the stringing works. 7. Painting for the highest tower by the warning painting as specified in the specification.
