Brampton has always tried to offer a variety of clubs for all ages and interests. We are very pleased to be offering new clubs this term as well as other popular clubs continuing. Miss Bartlett is now running a recorder club for Years 1 and 2, while Miss Bates continues to run her Active Alli club for Years 1 and 2. Mrs Newman has started a Italian club for Year 4 which compliments our Spanish club in Year 5 run by Mrs Willoughby. Meanwhile Mrs Jackson is currently following up a contact to start a French club as well! Our active kids club has returned on a Tuesday morning from 7.45 for early risers. Miss Hope and Mrs Perks are busy preparing the choir for their Christmas performance in their choir club. Miss Hope also runs a String starz club which is held for any string musician in Years 4 to 6. Science and gymnastics clubs are provided by an external qualified body. Unfortunately due to the lack of playground for the juniors with netball court markings we are currently unable to offer the netball club, although in Mr Kempsters absence Mrs Ward and Mr Capelli are doing a grand job running our football club and teams. Football is also offered by CS Soccer. So we hope we are able to provide a wide range of activities to sort all interests and ages. We are also proud of our staff who freely give up their time in lunch hours and after school to provide these opportunities and are proud of the children who make a commitment and gain personally and for the school and our community for their participation.

Brampton Primary is a restorative school where the initial response to conflict is to find a solution where things are put right, the victims needs are met whilst also meeting the needs of the wrong doer and meet all the schools responsibilities.

This is our School Improvement Plan. The targets were based on analysis of data from last year. Target 1: To narrow the gap of underachieving groups of pupils throughout the school. Objectives: Embed agreed programmes, procedures and practices. Focus on raising the attainment of below average and vulnerable pupils. Continue to develop greater consistency in levels of achievement in reading. To narrow the gender gap. Success Criteria: Teachers have a heightened awareness of the underachieving and vulnerable groups of pupils in their class Interventions have a positive impact and raise underachieving pupils attainment. Gap narrowed between boys and girls. Target 2: To improve teaching and learning in mathematics throughout the school. Objectives: To improve the teaching and learning of calculation strategies. To increase the number of pupils achieving levels 2A and 3 (level 2B+) in KS1; particularly girls. To increase the percentage of boys attaining L4 and 5 at Key Stage 2. Target 3: To narrow the gap between boys and girls reading and writing across the school. Success Criteria: Teaching and learning in the calculation aspect of the curriculum is extended and enhanced. Percentage of pupils at level 2A and 3 increased; gap reduced between boys and girls. Percentage of boys attaining L4 and 5 at Key Stage 2 increased; gap narrowed between boys and girls Target 3: To narrow the gap between boys and girls reading and writing across the school. Objectives: To improve development of fine and gross motor skills in boys in the Early Years Foundation Stage. To improve consistency in the teaching and learning of writing across Key Stage 2. To increase the percentage of boys attaining Level 4+ and Level 5 in reading and writing. To improve attainment of less able pupils in Key Stage 2. Success Criteria: Improvement in the gross motor skills of Early Years Foundation Stage boys. Consistent teaching and learning of writing across Key Stage 2. Improvement and consistency in the teaching and learning of phonics and spelling across the school, with improvement in spelling at Key Stage 2. Attainment of less able pupils raised. Chartered London Teacher Status Congratulations to Mrs Jackson and Mrs Eaton who have both recently achieved the Chartered London Teacher Status. This recognises and rewards the skills and expertise of London teachers. CLT status is for teachers who, on a day-to-day basis, play a key role in transforming education in London by working to raise the achievements of all pupils and by challenging educational under-achievement and disadvantage. They join 3 other members of staff who have also gained this award.

Peanut Allergies Please can we remind everyone that we are a Peanut Free school in our cooked meals and we ask parents not to put any nuts or items containing nuts in their childs packed lunches. Thank you Building News It was reported last week that the progress of the building works is in line with the construction programme. Facia, soffits, floor insulation and screed to the main building is completed. Abbotts increased the workforce on site to complete the roofing programme and they are now working on the carpentry first fix, dry lining and soak away drainage. The re-enstatement of the pond area on the field is also nearly completed. Morrison Vouchers Morrisons are no longer issuing vouchers and the deadline for placing our order is November 30th. If you have any more vouchers at home, please send them into school as soon as possible so that they can be counted and included in our final total. FOB News FOB have been busy recently with a successful childrens disco and Christmas shopping event on Tuesday. Many thanks to Mrs Bruce, Mrs Buckner and all the other helpers for putting on two successful events. They also held their AGM meeting for the first time during the lunchtime this week.

BRAMPTON GOLD BOOK Striving to Reach the Best Every week we print the names of those children who have achieved in either their work, conduct or behaviour around school and have been entered in the Gold Book. They have been mentioned in Mondays celebratory assembly. After 3 mentions children receive a bronze certificate, 6 mentions for a silver, 9 mentions for a gold, 12 mentions for a Super Gold and 15 mentions for a Platinum certificate, 18 for Diamond, 21+ for a Head teachers Award and 24 for a Special Head teacher Award and Badge.

And finally.....PARKING We are aware that a parent has again parked on the double yellow lines on the corner opposite the school causing difficulties for a bus driver and then reversing into Brampton Road. The car was a Light Green FiatLZ51UZC. This number has been passed on to our community police officers who patrol the area to monitor parking. Remember if you like what were doing tell us and others!
