backhaul/transmission network bottlenecks. Such a feature provides means of analysing the impact of traffic beyond the radio network which is critical for the newly deployed mobile broadband technologies. The traffic carried over the air interface can either be simulated in ASSET or can be imported from external sources such as performance management statistics and thereafter its impact on the network elements considered. The carried traffic information generated and/or stored in ASSET can be seamlessly integrated into CONNECT for further detailed analysis of the backhaul network. CARRIED TRAFFIC ANALYSIS In ASSET 7.0, the ability to perform interference analysis has been improved for GSM technology and extended to technologies such as WiMAX and LTE. The new interference analysis capability allows for quick problem cell/area identification and network performance troubleshooting. ANTENNA INSTANCE IDS The introduction of support for custom Antenna Instance IDs allow for a much enhanced modeling of distributed antenna systems that are being deployed in complex buildings or large campuses. This new feature allows for easy visualisation of such a distributed antenna system affording the engineer the ability to generate the site designs quickly. EXTENDED CHARACTER SUPPORT Support for extended character set allows for much better localisation of ASSET by affording the use of FarEastern and Arabic character sets across ASSET 7.0 and its productivity packs. GOOGLE EARTH VISUALISATION Visualisation of ASSET data in an external GIS applications such as Google Earth. AIRCOMs proprietary GIS can be synched with Google Earth allowing the engineer to get an enhanced view of the network in the context of information. USER & GROUP SPECIFIC LICENSING For the complex multitechnology networks, there is often a large number of users using ASSET to perform a variety different tasks. ASSET 7.0 enables the allocation of specific licenses to specific users or groups to allow for better utilisation of the available license pool.

ADVANTAGE An Automatic Cell Planning (ACP) module, designed to enable operators to make better business decisions by assessing the impact of different network configurations within their license obligations. This enables networks to be engineers in real-time to maximise capacity, coverage and network quality, whilst reducing OPEX and reducing the inherent risk of error by minimising manual intervention. ASSET-ACP The core functionalities of a full blown ACP product are introduced into the everyday planning activities of an RF planner using ASSET. This results in a significantly improved efficiency and effectiveness of radio planners. For example, it is possible to study the effects of LTE requirements within existing networks and prepare for the changes needed to introduce LTE into the current infrastructure. MYRIAD PROPAGATION MODEL ASSET now includes the option of a newly integrated propagation model a sophisticated and versatile model that is the result of intensive research in propagation, modeling and optimisation. AIRCOMs MYRIAD model is able to automatically adapt itself to all cell sizes (micro, mini, small and macro cells), to all environments (dense urban, urban, suburban, mountainous, maritime, open), and to all technologies in frequency ranges from 400MHz to 5GHz. It includes a very powerful automatic model tuning engine to reduce overall planning time, whilst improving planning efficiency and accuracy.

SONORITY ENHANCED FREQUENCY PLANNING Using Sonority, frequencies, BSIC, HSN and MAIO may all be effectively planned, taking into consideration inter-technology interference, particularly when considering GSM spectrum re-farming when deploying UMTS 900. Sonority delivers a powerful new way to visualise and interact with frequency plans, utilising user-defined criteria. This approach delivers faster, more accurate and higher quality plans by calculating and reporting the co-frequency allocation cost for different cells. Interactive frequency analysis allows users to not only interpret existing plans but to make rapid changes to address potential issues, based on accurate information including measured interference matrix. ENHANCED MEASUREMENT SUPPORT Allows third party interference tables to be loaded into ASSET. Planning efficiency and accuracy is then improved through measurement based neighbor planning, identification of signal reception problems (crossed feeders), measurementbased path loss correction and propagation model analysis. FINANCIAL ANALYSIS ASSETs Financial Analysis module has the power to effectively tell the user if there is even a business case for rolling out a new technology (e.g. LTE), whilst planning and optimising the network prior to deployment. It also allows for detailed OPEX and CAPEX what if planning scenarios to be completed, maximising revenues and operating margins.

ARRAYWIZARD Automatically maintaining up-to-date arrays and predictions, ARRAYWIZARD ensures that detailed and up-to-date statistics on predicted national network coverage are produced reliably and regularly. This is critical for customer care services where agents can quickly inspect the latest coverage information during calls leading to shorter calls and happier customers. Other benefits include the inclusion of coverage checks into the sales process, leading to improved brand loyalty. RANOPT A multi-technology, multivendor drive test, walk test and in-building measurement post processing tool. For daily optimisation activities, as well as for benchmarking and trend analysis, RANOPT allows for the processing of bulk data from a variety of 3rd party tools. RANOPT is seamlessly integrated into ASSET allowing you to analyse actual measurement data against planned. MULTI-CORE PREDICTIONS This productivity pack allows for dual/quad core processing of prediction calculations potentially doubling or quadrupling performance. Multiple CPU cores are used to process multiple path loss predictions simultaneously. DISTRIBUTED PREDICTIONS Further increase the prediction throughput by having multiple prediction calculations running over multiple desktop and server machines.

64-BIT SIMULATOR Provides support for very large/detailed simulations. The native 64-bit version of the simulator has the ability to address up to 16TB of virtual memory and 128GB of physical memory. This enables users to utilise 64bit PC hardware with >4GB of RAM, when performing very large and detailed simulations, delivering significant performance benefits.

ASSET EWS For seamless integration of ASSET information from any source, using the latest web-based technologies. MULTI-TECHNOLOGY ANALYSIS Each technology pack expands the high performance ASSET simulator with a comprehensive set of coverage/interference/ capacity facilities appropriate to that technology. These output results can then be analysed spatially on the map view or using the simulation reports. When used in conjunction with each other, the simulator becomes multi-technology aware and can model the transition of traffic between UMTS and GSM.
