Wisdom International School for Higher Education Studies (WISHES) Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies (BAIS)

The WISHES Islamic Studies curriculum is based on the authentic knowledge of Islam (i.e., the Qur'an and the Sunnah). It aims to produce sincere, God-fearing and peaceful-loving Muslims who are assets not only to their respective societies and countries but also to the international community by virtue of their adherence to the real teachings of Islam. To have a well-rounded curriculum, WISHES also includes English and Arabic languages as well as other important subjects such as Education, Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, Public Speaking, Leadership and Management Development that will help develop students confidence, communication and leadership skills; and thus have a well-balanced personality as ideal Muslims who will play positive and great roles in building peaceful and progressive society. The Islamic Studies curriculum as a whole develops the total personality development of students in order to attain success, especially supreme success in the eternal life hereafter.

(Note: Full time students are allowed to take 5 subjects (15 units) per semester. Only students with excellent grades may take the maximum 6 subjects (18 units) per semester. Part time students can take 3-4 subjects (9-12 units) per semester. of Aqeedah and Eeman, the characteristics of Faith concerning its completion and its levels, the beliefs of the saved sect and the methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah in establishing Islamic beliefs. This subject describes the sciences, excellent qualities and benefits of the Holy Qur'an as a complete book of guidance from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. This subject gives details on the principles, characteristics and benefits of the Sunnah and the science of hadith as the second revealed book of knowledge and guidance. It also discusses the need for the ummah to revive and adhere to the Sunnah of the Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhi wa salaam in order to attain development and success both in this world and the life hereafter. This subject explains the Science of Tafsir, its sources, misconceptions and famous commentaries as well as its prophetic commentary. It teaches correct recitation (tajweed), memorization and interpretation of AlFatiha, Ayaatul Qursi (2:255), the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah (2:285-286) and Surahs (Chapters) 112-114. This subject teaches correct recitation (tajweed), memorization and interpretation of Chapters 85111 of the Holy Quran. Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah)

This subject develops students' understanding of the benefits of Dhikr and memorization of selected remembrance (Dhikr) from the Quran and the Sunnah. This subject explains the history of the life and achievements of Prophet Muhammad in Makkah and Madinah with emphasis on his characteristics not only as a Messenger and Prophet but also as a leader and model in all aspects, including his manners and wisdom of conveying the message of Islam to the nonMuslims. This subject describes the qualities of ideal Muslim man in relation to his Creator, himself, parents, family, neighbors, friends and the society in the light of Qur'anic injunctions and authentic ahadith. It also includes how ideal woman should deal with non-Muslims, jinn and animals in promoting peace and harmony for the pleasure of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. This subject describes the qualities of ideal Muslim woman in relation to her Creator, herself, parents, family, neighbors, friends and the society in the light of Qur'anic injunctions and authentic ahadith. It also includes how ideal woman should deal with non-Muslims, jinn and animals for the pleasure of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Discussions include reputation of recurrent issues concerning the status, role and rights of women in Islam. This subject identifies the beliefs and deeds that lead people out of the fold of Islam and/or commit major sins. It also describes some punishments for those who commit major sins. This subject explains the life of this temporary world, death, dying, laws of inheritance, and the life in the eternal world: its punishments and rewards. Through this course, students will learn and strive hard to be sincere, God-fearing, righteous, ideal Muslims and Duat in order to please Allah subhanahu wa taala. This subject introduces students to the principles and methods of Usul Al-Fiqh (Fundamentals of Jurisprudence). It also explains the rationale and excellence of the divine law and the need to uphold and adhere to it in attaining success. This subject identifies the things and deeds/practices which are considered lawful which every Muslim need to practice and those which they must avoid as unlawful according to the Quran and the Sunnah (authentic Ahadith). This subject explains the concept of righteousness in Islam and enumerates various ways of doing righteousness according to the Qur'an and the Sunnah and their subsequent rewards, which students are made to reflect in terms of their importance in improving eeman, personality development and da'wah. This subject teaches students the principles and guidelines of effective public speaking in Islam. It also includes selected samples of well-written khutbas (speeches) by the imams of the two holy mosques to encourage students to be effective in da'wah. This subject covers selected fatawa on various issues confronting the present Muslim ummah, taken from the Fatawa of renowned Muslim Scholars from the Ahlul Sunnah wa Al-Jumaa. This subject explains the character and contributions of the last and final Prophet and Messenger of Allah to mankind. It enlightens students to the importance of understanding the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) as Allah's mercy to mankind
