Traces of Grace
Dear Fellow Parishioners; As you read this article in the bulletin on the way home after Mass (hopefully not during Mass!), your head may be spinning. As has been announced for several months now, along with Fr. Chris 10 sermon series on the Mass and the new liturgical changes, this was our first Sunday with these changes. Hopefully it was not too painful or difficult for you. We priests have been practicing the new translations of the prayers and our heads have been spinning a bit as well. Like all things new, it will take some time to make the adjustments to our new liturgical language. But if you think it is tough for you, most of the language changes are for the priests. After 32 years of celebrating mass and knowing the prayers by almost by heart, and being a bit of a slow learner, it will be a challenge for me to adapt. But adapt we will so my prayer is for patience on all sides. Just imagine how it will be on Christmas! If you wish to get some more of the back story to these changes, I once again recommend that you check out the parish website, www.stedward.com for Fr. Chriss sermon series on the Mass as well as go to www.rcbo.org and look under Diocesan news for Msgr. Art Holquins video presentation on the changes. Both are excellent and to be recommended. Together in Christ;
Rasgos de Gracia
Estimados feligreses; Mientras ustedes leen este artculo en el boletn de camino a casa despus de Misa (y no durante la Misa!), espero que la cabeza no les est dando vueltas. Como se ha anunciado desde hace varios meses atrs, y a travs de la serie de los diez sermones del Padre Chris sobre la Misa y los nuevos cambios litrgicos, ste fue nuestro primer domingo con dichos cambios. Esperemos que no haya sido tan doloroso o difcil para ustedes. Nosotros, los sacerdotes hemos venido practicando las nuevas traducciones de las oraciones y esto nos ha agitado un poco tambin nuestras mentes. Como todas las cosas nuevas, tomar algn tiempo el ajustarnos a nuestro nuevo lenguaje litrgico. Pero si usted piensa que es difcil para usted, la mayora de los cambios del lenguaje son para los sacerdotes. Despus de 32 aos de celebrar la misa y sabiendo las oraciones casi de memoria, y siendo un poco lento para aprender, ser un reto para m el adaptarme. Pero, nos adaptaremos, entonces mi oracin ser por paciencia para todos. Imagnese cmo ser en la Navidad! Si desea saber un poco ms a cerca de este relato sobre dichos cambios, les recomendamos una vez ms visitar nuestro pagina web de la parroquial, www.stedward.com y aprender de la serie de los diez sermones del Padre Chris sobre la Misa, al igual que visitar www.rcbo.org y buscar en las noticias de la Dicesis el video de Monseor Holquin a cerca de los cambios de la liturgia. Los dos son excelentes y vale la pena ser recomendados. Juntos en Cristo;

SAVE THE DATE AND APPLY NOW!! PENNIES FROM HEAVEN Thank you for your generous response to this years campaign! If you have not yet returned your baby bottle, please do so right away. The bottles cost $ 0.78/pc and so far only 60% have been returned. If we have to buy more of them for next year, it takes money away from the total donation we want to make to save unborn lives. Another way of looking at it is if a bottle is returned empty it is equivalent to a donation of 78 cents. However, if the bottle is returned "enriched" the donation is even greater! Thank you!
