Heroes- f a hero is properly defined as somebody who does something dangerous to
help somebody else, then the heroes of Greek mythology do not qualify. They were a
pretty selfish bunch, often with additional antisocial tendencies thrown into the bargain--
in other words, not exactly role models for the younger generation of today. But knowing
their names and exploits is essential for understanding references in literature and even
popular culture today. So let's recognize and celebrate Hercules and Perseus and the
others by their proper dictionary definition: "n mythology and legend, a man or woman,
often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated
for his or her bold exploits, and favored by the gods." They are
Jason, Hercules, Bellerophon, Theseus, Odysseus, and Perseus.

Legends
2. Phisical traits- Tyche was the goddess or spirit of fortune, chance,
providence and fate. She was usually honoured in a more favourable
light as Eutykhia, goddess of good fortune, luck, success and
prosperity.
Tykhe was represented with different attributes. Holding a rudder, she was
conceived as the divinity guiding and conducting the affairs of the world, and
in this respect she was called one of the Moirai(ates); with a ball she
represented the varying unsteadiness of fortune--unsteady and capable of

rolling in any direction; with Ploutos or the horn of Amalthea, she was the
symbol of the plentiful gifts of fortune.
Tyche is depicted with a cornucopia, rudder, wings, wheel and ball.

Strengths- She determines whether a person will receive good luck or
bad luck.
- Tyche seemed to work together with the goddess Nemesis. If Tyche give
good fortune to a person, Nemesis will take away from those who receive
fortune undeservedly.
-Relations- daughter of Hermes and Aphrodite, or considered as one of
the Oceanids, daughters of Oceanus and Tethys, or of Zeus.
[4]
She was connected
with Nemesis
[5]
and Agathos Daimon ("good spirit").
Story- Tyche, a Goddess existed before the Dawn Cataclysm. She flirted with
fortune and disaster, Lady Luck bestowed and withdrew her favor at a whim. This
continued for Eons.
Eventually Tyche found herself embroiled, along with the rest of her circle of
deities, in a war between the Gods resulting from the actions of a current
paramour, Lathander. Tyche kissed the Morninglord with misfortune and
wandered off to explore the Realms. Tyche was always fickle with her favours.
During her travels, Lady Luck discovered a budding rose of amazing beauty.
Delighted with this, Tyche reached to pluck this delight, which she assumed was
a peace overture from Lathander, who sought to regain her good graces. Lady
Luck was astonished that she could not pluck the rose from its bush. She cursed
the rose with bad luck, and the flower's stem broke in her hands. Tyche placed
the plucked rose behind her ear and continued on her journey.
The rose was a manifestation of Moander, god of corruption and decay. The
severed rose stem crept into Tyche's ear and began to rot her from the inside
out. Lady Luck now suffered from misfortune.
Later Tyche returned home, she came across her dear friend waiting for her, the
goddess Selune. Also Lathander, who wished to regain her affections, and
Azuth, who had come to umpire the argument between the two. Selune wept at
the corruption and rot destroying her friend from within. nstead of letting Tyche
see this, Selune lashed out with a bolt of purifying light. Tyche's rotted core split
right down the middle and a smaller, brighter version of the goddess of luck

stepped out, allowing the goddess of the moon to save that which was good and
pure in her friend. However, following this first figure from the rotten external shell
was another form stunning to behold, but full of dark malice and capricious ill will.
As the two emerged, they immediately fell upon each other in hate, struggling
madly, and were only separated by the combined efforts of all three visitors.
t is said that Tymora, Tyche's Fair-Haired Daughter, embodies all the grace and
kindness of her mother, while Beshaba, Tyche's Unpleasant Daughter, got only
her looks. Since their birth, the twin aspects of Tyche - Tymora, Lady Luck, and
Beshaba, Maid of Misfortune - have battled each other in a civil war that
continues to this day.
Today, in the 21st Century, the struggle of good fortune and bad fortune
continues. When you wish for Good Luck, you can only do this!

5. Greece today- Greece has land borders with Albania, the Republic of
Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to
the east of mainland Greece, the onian Sea to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to
the south. Greece has the twelfth longest coastline in the world at 13,676 km (8,498 mi)
in length, featuring a vast number of islands (approximately 1,400, of which 227 are
inhabited), including Crete, the Dodecanese, the Cyclades, and the onian
slands among others. Eighty percent of Greece consists of mountains, of which Mount
Olympus is the highest at 2,917 m (9,570 ft).
Modern Greece traces its roots to the civilization of ancient Greece, generally
considered the cradle of Western civilization. As such, it is the birthplace of
democracy,
[11]
Western philosophy,
[12]
the Olympic Games, Western
literature and historiography, political science, major scientific
and mathematical principles, university education, coinage, and Western
drama,
[13]
including both tragedy and comedy. This legacy is partly reflected in the
seventeen UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in Greece, ranking Greece 7th in
Europe and 13th in the world. The modern Greek state was established in 1830,
following the Greek War of ndependence.
A developed country with an advanced,
[14][15]
high-income economy
[16]
and very high
standards of living (including the 22nd highest Human Development ndex in the world
as of 2010),

Greece has been a member of what is now the European
Union since 1981 and the eurozone since 2001,
[20]
NATO since 1952,
[21]
and
the European Space Agency since 2005.
