FIRST DAY: Read all lesson notes with references. 1. What challenged you in the lecture about how Acts applies to you personally? 2. What was new, helpful or interesting to you in the notes?

Answer these questions, using the Scripture passages given. For challenge questions, you may refer to other passages as well. The questions, of necessity, cannot be based on all translations; so, as far as possible, use the New International Version as a basic text with whatever other version you enjoy using.

SECOND DAY: Read Acts 1:14; Luke 24:2527, 3653. 3. a. After Jesus resurrection, how did He teach His disciples and prepare them for their work? Give verses. b. How are we taught and prepared in the same way today? c. Tell your group how you have personally been taught by Jesus in this way.

4. List the convincing proofs of Jesus bodily resurrection mentioned in Luke 24 and John 20:1929; 21:114.

5. (Challenge) Why do you think Jesus waited with the disciples forty days after His resurrection before going to heaven? THIRD DAY: Read Acts 1:48. 6. For what did Jesus command the disciples to wait before leaving Jerusalem or doing any work for God (Acts 1:48)?

7. (Challenge) a. Read John 14:17. How did the Holy Spirits relationship to the disciples change after Jesus ascended to heaven and they were personally baptized with the Spirit?

b. Is it possible to have the Holy Spirit with you but not in you? Why?

FOURTH DAY: Read Acts 1:411. 8. Does a person who receives Christ become baptized with the Holy Spirit at the same time? Use any of the following verses to prove your answer. (Romans 8:9, 1416; 1 Corinthians 12:13; 2 Corinthians 1:2122; and Galatians 4:6) 9. (Challenge) What is the difference between being baptized with the Holy Spirit and lled with the Holy Spirit? (Acts 4:8, 31; 6:34; Ephesians 5:18.)

FIFTH DAY: Read Acts 1:1226. 12. a. From 1:1314, who are the people that prayed together and what do you learn from that? b. For what do you think they prayed?

a. (Challenge) Should we choose people for leadership as the apostles did in Acts 1? Give reasons for your answer. (Skim Acts 2 for help.)

b. According to Acts 1, should a person who has organization, talents, hard work, dedication, and devotion, but not the Holy Spirits baptism and inlling, try to work for God? Give reasons for your answer. SIXTH DAY: Read Acts 1. 14. What from Acts 1 will you apply to your life this week? How may your group pray for you as you do so?
