Its the 1st of December already, where has the year gone? Well, we had a wonderful day at the Papanui Junction School Athletics on Monday. The weather was beautiful, (maybe a bit too beautiful, I burnt my feet ah so itchy) and the organisation ran like clockwork. The kids all participated in a range of events, a first for a few of the little ones. It was very cute watching Isabel wait for her mates to catch up to her in the running races, and Ashley carefully climbing up the mat and over the high jump bar. I must say that I am pleased Jonny got to win a few running races since the disappointment of Hunterville being cancelled, watch out TAS I think you have a middle distance champ on the way. The best part of the whole day was that everyone participated and had a wonderful time, though I am wondering about the need for three parent races? I thought I might actually get out of it this year, but they just kept coming! Thank goodness Jenny, Jock, and Maryanne

took up the slack, and that the part which I had to run had a slight down hill slope. We are looking forward to next year Papanui :-) Pukeokahu School Movie Premier Wednesday 14th December You are all invited to our school Movie Premier at the Taihape Majestic Movie Theatre. I will confirm times and schedule next week, but we expect to start around 11am. The senior childr en will be showing their claymation films and the juniors their photography and podcasts. School Books and Readers Since its the end of year, please have a very thorough look for any school library books or junior readers that need to be returned before the end of school. Sun Hats At School Finally, its that time of year again. Please make sure your child has a sunhat for school. It would be good if they had one that just stayed at school so that they wont forget it. Just an old farm one will do. District Christmas Party - Friday 9th December Dont forget, our District Christmas Party is set, see the flyer on the back of the newsletter. Please bring an item for the grocery raffle and a present for the Kids Santas Sack (less than $15). School Swimming Lesson - Friday 2nd December Could you please let me know if you are available to help with transport next week. We need to leave school by 12.50 to make our 1.30pm lesson.
