I, Manoj Paliwal, introduce myself as a Personnel, Industrial Relations, Safety and Administration functionary. Presently I am Assistant Manager HR and Safety in CASE NEW HOLLAND Construction Equipment (India) Pvt. Limited, Pithampur, an FIAT Group company. My total experience spreads into 20 years with varied assignments of handling Personnel, IR, Liaison, Training, Safety and Environment. Key functions in present employment Industrial Relations: I am responsible for creating a congenial atmosphere by forming close association with workers in general and the union in particular. Meet the union office bearers on daily basis to have a good interaction to share the information from either side and to take preemptive actions to ensure peaceful and cordial industrial relations. Apprise the top management about the union feelings, aspirations, their mood etc. Do constant talking with the union officials outside meetings when negotiations are in progress on issues like wage negotiations, bonus/exgratia negotiations. By doing so, I try to soften the stance of the union office bearers which facilitates creation of a good atmosphere for negotiations and to reach at an amicable agreement. Finalization of uniforms and safety items: I finalize with the union/committees the selection of uniforms and safety items issued to the employees. Discipline: Keep a close vigil in the plant to note any symptom of indiscipline. Do proper counseling to the delinquent workman if found indulged in acts of indiscipline. Help the line management in initiating disciplinary proceedings against a worker indulged in major misconduct. Take necessary steps to issue charge sheet and hold domestic enquiry if warranted. Follow up with company legal advisor in pursuing a case in courts, if pending. Legal: Ensure obtaining and renewing all types of licenses, approvals pertaining to labor and factory operations and renewing of the same as required. Maintain all statutory records and submit the returns as required. Also liaise with company lawyer appearing in labor cases pending in courts. Liaison: I have very strong relations with officials from Factory Inspectorate and Labor departments. Maintain good contacts with professional bodies, industry executives and peers. Personnel Fraternity, a voluntary body of HR/IR professionals in Pithampur. I am the Hony. Secretary of the Indore Action Centre of Bhopal Chapter of the National Safety Council Canteen: Responsible for operation of the canteen to ensure quality food and hygiene. Constant feedback is taken from the supervisor looking after the day to day operations and reporting to me. I give necessary guidance to the supervisor to achieve good quality and desired hygiene levels. Safety: I have a strong history in safety management in various industries ranging from Pharmaceuticals, Automobile and Earthmovers. I am the qualified official Safety Officer in CASE INDIA. I have prepared and released various safety documents and manuals. The safety manual prepared and released by me is a land mark document on safety. Corporate Social Responsibility: I am the nodal person for driving the CSR activities in CASE INDIA. We have carried out various social works in Indore and around with my active participation. Welfare and Cultural: I am the president of the CASE INDIA Sports and Cultural Committee which organizes annual sports and cultural programmes for the employees and their family members. Training: I am solely responsible for the training in CASE INDIA. My training activities include identification of training needs from the Performance Appraisal document, compile them and make training calendar followed by organizing the training programmes, take feedback and assess training effectiveness. ISO 14001: I am a qualified ISO Auditor and am on the panel of internal auditors. I am also the designated auditee for training in CASE INDIA. Education: 1. Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safely from Central Labour Institute, Mumbai in 1999 2. Post-Graduation in Chemistry from Kanpur University with 56% marks in 1988. 3.
