Let us be brutally frank. Time is quite hard for many of us both in and out of Jamaica. Therefore we have no time to spare. It is quite sad to hear of a story where a young man who just finished his stay at a boys home, was hungry and he trespassed on the property of the Governor General, seeking bread. There he picked some Ackee, a national fruit which he had planned to sell to buy food. He was caught stealing. Instead of being reprimanded and sent home, he was arrested and taken to court. Now there is where our failure has reached us for in a case where the citizen may have thought that there exists a chance of forgiveness, the judge herself tells the court and the world that she was robbed of her own Ackee some time ago. Judge Pusey then slapped this poor young man with three months in prison and a fine of $350 which he could not pay. But the story gets even worse. The young man was

Yet, he was found wanting on a property on which resides the top person who is responsible for finally passing our laws. Clearly, he was not briefed. He was just thrown in the woods after his stint in an institution which many thought was set up to deal with errant boys. But let us follow him for the moment to prison where he will spend the next three months unless the Governor gives him pardon. Do not go that far. The Governor General has told the country that he cannot go around the law. Indeed, the law is really a shackle. Request for this man to be forgiven and freed must be sent to the local Privy Council. This is what Governor Allen has said. We

church, school, banks and political parties which had put us in this plight. But it is simply not our institutions from which stems the problems. It is people. It is us: me and you, not really them. This puts us along the track of socialization. It does not matter where on the globe we rest our heads. Our problems lie with how we treat our brothers and our sisters. Once we get to the stage where we start showing love and care from the top to the ground, we will get no where. As Jamaicans, we need to take stock of ourselves. The question arises as to where we are, where we emerged and just where we need to go. We saunter off to another home abroad but we will never forget home. But we need to consider deeply about what we have left behind, who we have left behind and what is the purpose we wish to serve. Will we stand up tall in front of others and declare our origin? Or do we need to hide and will we be able to keep it a secret that we were born in the same place where that hungry, imprisoned man who is to spend three months in jail because he picked Ackee from his Governors tree to feed himself, originated? We are really in a pickle. But hope must be on the horizon.

Music transcends color, class, creed, etc. Music knows no boundaries and as a song-writer, I have long since been aware of the power of my words which is why I have chosen over the years to write words that are positive, uplifting and encouraging. When people listen to my lyrics, I want them to be inspired, enriched and happy. I want people to feel the positivity and I want the words to linger on in their hearts. There are those that choose to use the power of their words to manipulate, degrade, divide and corrupt. Ultimately, its up to the listener to choose what they are instilling into their

Bounty Killer and Aidonia Reunite

Dancehall artistes Bounty Killer and Aidonia have officially buried the hatchet and recently recorded a collaboration called Mack 90. According to Bounty Killer, who Aidonia credits as being his main influence in becoming an artiste, there has never been a real conflict between the two. According to Bounty, Aidonia made a bad decision splitting from the Alliance along with Vybz Kartel. However, it understandable, considering the situation he was faced with at the time. There was a split in the crew and he made a bad decision by going with Kartel as it was Kartel who had introduced him to me, so I can understand. Aidonia is more accurate vocally now, and much more developed, mature and ready so it was easy working together, he said. Bounty Killer also said that the song is very promising and looks to be even more promising than their last collaboration. According to Lawrence, Aidonia is not only poised to do more collaborations with the Alliance but is also focusing on exposing the members of J.O.P. Aidonia recently returned from Barbados where he performed at Kensington Oval at Slick Ricks Birthday Bash. The last collaboration between Bounty and Aidonia was done three years ago.

ST GEORGES, Grenada - The government of Grenada is warning that Taiwans aggressive effort to collect a $28 million judgment will hurt the tourism-dependent economy of the Caribbean island. Cruise lines and airlines may halt operations in Grenada after receiving legal papers filed by American lawyers working for Taiwan in the United States compelling them to turn over any money they owe Grenada in fees or other payments, Finance Minister Nazim Burke said. Already one cruise line has threatened to cancel its 20 stops in 2011-12 in Grenada as a result of the effort to seize port fees. The dispute centers around loans provided by Taiwans Export-Import Bank for a variety of infrastructure projects in Grenada in the 1990s. Grenada officials have said they could no longer pay the loans because of a number of shocks to its economy, including the devastation from Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and the drop in tourism following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States. Officials in the Caribbean nation have said

Taiwan Takes Aggressive Measures Towards Grenada

Taiwanese officials refused to renegotiate the loans because Grenada had severed diplomatic relations in favor of rival China. Taiwan filed suit in a U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and won a summary judgment in 2007 that has grown to about $28 million with interest and p e n a l t i e s . Thats a huge sum for Grenada, nearly the total value of its exports of goods in 2009. Grenada has not paid any of the of the principal or interest on the judgment, according to Paul Summit, a lawyer for the ExportImport Bank. Burke said the law firm has contacted a number of U.S. and European companies, including Princess Cruises and American Airlines. He said they have been informed that Any monies you have for Grenada, we are going to seize it. Officials have previously argued that the previous government took out the loans and decided to stop paying on them so it should be given more leeway to work out a payment plan.

NuSpecies recognizes that while clinical studies are well-intended, they are not without flaws. NuSpecies has been helping thousands of NuSpecies clients (NuSpeciesians) and we have had considerable anecdotal proof that Vitamin D is a major factor in Diasporans health. Probably 60-80 percent of Diasporans, children, young men and women included, are believed to suffer Vitamin D deficiency and related low blood count (in many cases the deficiency is chronic), with some form of anemia. Likewise, most Black Men are believed to suffer from some form of Prostate disorders (urine frequency, urine burning, enlarged Prostate and Prostate cancer). Prostate cancer is perhaps the number one killer of Black Men. It is believed to be the number one killer of Jamaican men. Prostate cancer is contracted from ages 30-60. Some of these theories and hypotheses support NuSpecies anecdotal evidence. NuSpecies own discoveries however are not absolute proofs either. After consulting with and subsequently providing frequent guidance to thousands of NuSpeciesians who are Black, consistently observing vast health improvements naturally lead to the conclusion that Vitamin D deficiency seems to play a major role in Black Diasporans degraded health and premature death. The health conditions range from the common cold to Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Cancers, Arthritis among numerous other health disorders. NuSpeciesians come to NuSpecies for assistance in cleansing and detoxifying their bodies. To guarantee utmost quality in the formulas, NuSpecies added sufficient amounts of Vitamin D and enzymes among our numerous proprietary formulas. After years of observing health improvements, we conclude that NuSpeciesians health improvements are due largely in part to NuSpecies added selections of Vitamin D and enzymes. We are pleased to make knowledge about Vitamin D freely available.

Why Vitamin D? Vitamin Ds service to the body is much more like a hormone than a vitamin, but for the purpose of this article, we will continue to refer to it as Vitamin D. Vitamin D is normally formed in the skin but its production is affected by Melanin and cholesterol that are also in the skin. Melanin forces the skin to adapt to sunlight or ultra violet rays intensities. Darker skin color is due to higher levels of Melanin in the skin. Melanin is produced by cells and enzymes. It is a genetic factor. Melanin cells and genes create this skin color also to prevent ultra violet rays (UV) from harming the folic acids in the skin and to avoid diseased conditions. The darker the skin is the greater the protection

from UV rays. This is a genetic benefit for people that live close to the equator where the sun is more powerful and around all year long, but becomes a problem when the same person is living in a Northern climate. Darker skin color requires longer periods of time to create Vitamin D. White people need about five minutes to an hour to make adequate Vitamin D per day. Diasporans may need up to twelve hours per day. This poses two very critical problems. First, humans require Vitamin D for all body functions, and especially for glandular and reproductive functions. Secondly, our bodies begin the process of illness if a Vitamin D deficiency exists for too long. Apoptosis is the bodys immune system function of repairing or killing sick cells before these cells can lead to Cancer or other chronic diseases. Vitamin D deficiency will vastly limit and harm this key immune system function. Vitamin D deficiency therein prevents the body and the immune system from protecting the body from toxic, viral and bacterial attacks. It also prevents the body from rebuilding itself from illnesses. How Vitamin D Works Humans form Vitamin D from cholesterol. If Vitamin D is not being made by cholesterol, two harms immediately imperil the body: ab-

normal cholesterol metabolism and chronic Vitamin D deficiency. This kind of abnormal cholesterol metabolism is a factor linking Vitamin D deficiency to Prostate and Breast cancers as well as other degenerative diseases of the glands. The Studies have generally theorized that it is the main factor contributing to more Diasporans contracting the aggressive forms of these Cancers at a youthful age. Some Diasporan communities diets are rich in animal flesh, dairy products, processed and fast foods (in other words diets filled with proteins, fats and cholesterol), Vitamin D deficiency is unfortunately far more pernicious than other groups. Because some human glands are often very fatty tissues, especially the Prostate and Breast glands, clinical and epidemiological studies implicate unused or higher levels of cholesterol (fats and proteins) as a major promoter of Prostate cancer development and its aggressive progression. The Studies show that cholesterol also promotes tumor cell growth while conversely inhibiting Apoptosis immune functions (the bodys repairing or removal of unwanted or sick cells). Therefore, increases in body cholesterol from animal flesh and dairy products increases the bodys ingestion of fats, proteins and cholesterol and enhances the risks of certain diseases like Prostate cancer and perhaps Breast cancer. Nevertheless, NuSpecies does not necessarily, entirely endorse these Studies and so we look to NuSpecies anecdotal observations to support the NuSpecies Theory. The vast majority of NuSpeciesians report either high Cholesterol from their doctors medical exams, and or had diets high in animal flesh, dairy products and processed fast foods. Some NuSpeciesians with high Cholesterol also had Prostate, Breast and Cervical disorders and cancers. Many NuSpeciesians report Vitamin D deficiencies and low blood counts. Most NuSpeciesians with Prostate, Breast and other glandular disorders report that they are only between ages 30 and 55, observing that these disorders and cancers typically plague only older men and women between ages 70 and 100. NuSpeciesians between 30 and 50 state their shock at having these diseases so young. Their fathers and grand parents, they recall with consternation, had these diseases when they were usually past 70 years old. A fair number of NuSpeciesians do not trust doctors and so will not get medical or PSA check-ups, increasing their risk. All NuSpeciesians on our more potent formulas report significant health improvements over all. All NuSpeciesians with health conditions are strongly advised to follow their doctors treatments. Some report that they would not and had not before coming to NuSpecies. All NuSpeciesians on our more rigid health programs experience major health improvements in their reproductive glandular functions in a relatively short period. NuSpecies nevertheless theorizes that all health improvements arise from NuSpeciesians own God-given Apoptotic healing systems which benefited from our detoxification and rebuilding programs. These cleansing and rebuilding health programs assist in activating the bodys own healing systems at the cellular (nuclear, atomic and subatomic) levels. Through Apoptosis, Calcitriol hormones produced from Vitamin D are now able to play their central role in the bodys immune defense against cancers and other diseases. It is Calcitriol hormones that force the repair of sick cells in the Prostate. If Prostate cells are unable to repair themselves, Calcitriol forces Apoptosis (cell suicide) to protect the body from cancers and other diseases. Calcitriol, in the bodys healing process, even limits or cuts off blood supply to tumors in an attempt to kill the tumor or Cancer. Calcitriol Apoptosis is therefore human quantum energy being invoked by the body at the atomic and subatomic levels of cellular respiration and metabolism in defense of the body. NuSpecies finally theorizes that when the body is provided this kind of quan-

tum cleansing and rebuilding, it activates its own machinery of prevention, treatment and cure of diseased conditions. NuSpeciesians taking NuSpecies Body Systems, NuSpecies Legend or NuSpecies Caveman Legend may be getting adequate Vitamin D and Calcium because of the health results being reported. Nevertheless, checking your Vitamin D and blood count levels with your doctors regularly is a great practice. NuSpecies can additionally support you and your family with our Vitamin A & D Cod Liver Oil formula if your body is found to require additional Vitamin D. Be wise in your choice of Vitamin D. Vitamin D products can be toxic and unsafe; most are synthetic or obtained from pond raised fish which lack nourishment. The wrong supplement can cause more harm than good. Vitamin D must have Vitamin A and other complimentary nutrients to assimilate usefully into the body and to either eliminate or minimize toxicity. Ensure that the product label has Natural and Organic inscribed on it before your purchase and double check the ingredients to be sure the product is actually natural and organic as there are no clear regulations for companies making these statements on their labels. It is important to recognize that even though Vitamin D is extremely important to your health, it is not the end all. Understanding and practicing all the aspects of a healthy lifestyle will contribute to your longevity and vitality. NuSpecies commitment to our clients embraces a Whole Body Rebuilding perspective and we work with them until they achieve the results they are looking for. Embattled Reggae superstar Mark Myrie, more popularly known as Buju Banton, will call another prison home as he serves his ten-year prison sentence on drug-related charges. The Grammy-winning singjay has been in transit several times since his sentencing this past June on three drug charges stemming from a December 2009 incident in Florida. Buju initially started his sentencing in Miami, where his trial and eventual conviction occurred. However, the popular Reggae singer was transferred from the Pinellas County Jail in Tampa, Florida to the Federal Holding Centre in Oklahoma City, where he spent a month, before finally be-

A South Florida newspaper reports that Bujus prison adventure will come full circle as the internationally acclaimed artiste faces a move, enroute, to the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Miami, Florida. According to Bujus lawyer David Markus, Buju endured several hardships during two month stay in the Texas facility; describing the environment as one of a violent and unhealthy nature that made the singjay rather uncomfortable. He was at one of the worst places you can imagine; a county facility that had been converted to house federal inmates,

Markus expressed pleasure with the judge in Bujus trial, James Moody and the Jamaican consulate, who pleaded with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to move the artiste from the Texas prison as soon as possible. Were very appreciative that Judge Moody stood by his initial recommendation that Buju should be in Miami, Markus said. He made a point to comment that Buju is a peaceful person and shouldnt be housed in a violent facility. Markus plans to appeal Bujus ten-year sentence; filing a brief with Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta later next month.

True Royalty Does Not Consist In A Show Of Power, Says The Pope To Africa
COTONOU, Benin Pope Benedict XVI on his second pilgrimage to Africa laid out his spiritual vision for the continent and told tens of thousands during an open air Mass that true royalty does not consist in a show of power, comments that Africans interpreted as a jab at the continents corrupt rulers. The 84-year-old pope, weathered the intense heat inside Benins unventilated chapels and parishes to deliver the layered message on how Africa can emerge from war and poverty. The pastoral guide includes advice on everything from treating AIDS, to the respect that should be shown toward indigenous beliefs. Its a deeply studied dissertation that reveals the importance that Africa now plays for the Roman Catholic Church, a region whose congregations are growing more quickly than anywhere else. The core of his message was aimed at the individual and called on Africans to forgive those that have trespassed against them in order to halt the cycle of violence plaguing the continent. Benedict didnt mince his words, though, when it came to Africas rulers, whose corrupt regimes have bankrupted nations. I launch an appeal to all political and economic leaders of African countries, Benedict said over the weekend. Do not deprive your people of hope. Do not cut them off from their future by mutilating their present. Adopt a courageous, ethical approach to your responsibilities. The comment caused taxi drivers listening to his speech on their car radio to honk in approval. On Sunday, Benedict was speaking about Christ when he described a king who didnt amass money and who preferred to spend his time with the poor. His vant of the little ones, of the most humble, said the pope during the Sunday morning Mass held inside the national soccer stadium. True royalty does not consist in a show of power, but in humility of service. Not in the oppression of the weak, but in the ability to protect them, he continued. People began lining up at 3 a.m. Sunday for a chance to attend the papal Mass. At least 80,000 attended inside the stadium that seats 50,000, Vatican spokesman the Rev. Frederico Lombardi said. Women, who didnt make it in, kneeled in the parking lot and prayed on the pavement. The streets outside every venue where the pope spoke were crowded with aging buses with license plates from neighboring nations. Some had cracked windshields, evidence of the modest means of the rough-

comments were instantly interpreted as a metaphor for Africas bloated leaders. Today, like 2,000 years ago, we are accustomed to seeing the signs of royalty in success, strength, money and power. We find it hard to accept such a king, a king who makes himself the ser-

ly 1,000 priests that came from all over Africa, many driving hundreds of miles over potholed and overgrown roads. Africa has helped breathe life into a church that has seen a steep decline in Europe. In the popes native Germany, the number of Catholics fell by almost 2 million in the past decade. By contrast during the same period, Benins congregation grew by half, adding 500,000 new converts. He touched on this as he said farewell. I wanted to visit Africa once more. It is a continent for which I have a special regard and affection, for Im deeply convinced that it is a land of hope. ... Here are found authentic values which have much to teach our world, he said. Why should an African country not show the rest of the world the path?

reetings my brothers and sisters! Last issue I revealed how to save money by eliminating 5 simple things you dont need. In todays section of the financial corner I am going to pick up from where I left off by revealing the 5 additional simple things you need to eliminate so you can save money. Just a reminder, before I begin to reveal these additional 5 things.

1. Stop buying food at restaurants, and start to do some cooking. I know a lot of you are very busy and really dont have time to cook. All you have to do is commit some time to cooking two or three different meals on a Saturday, Sunday or the day you are not working and let those meals last you for the week. You will be surprised to see how much money you save. 2. Cable cost is ridiculousThere are 3 things that you ly high. Lower your cable will need; subscription to the basic Self-discipline, package. So do you really need another pair? 4. Please, do not go into all those major stores to buy jewelry for yourself or for a gift. Its marked up anywhere from 100% to 400%. You can go right down to the

5. A lot of us want good health and to live longer so we waste our money on all these miracle products thats suppose to raise the dead and give sight to blind. Stop wasting your money on all those so called health products. What you should do is sit down with a certified nutritionist or a doctor that truly cares about your health and not about fattening the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies and let them tell you what nutrient you are lacking. Then you can get nutritional products geared to-

wards your specific needs and not waste your money on useless products and trends. Before I end this article I have 2 questions to ask you. Mystic Bowie, a descendant of the Maroon Tribe in Jamaica, has established the Mystic Bowie Cultural Center Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of the children of Jamaica. Our mission is to unlock the potential of each and every child through music, drama, and sports. We believe that these fundamentals can be used as a springboard to help each child improve the skills needed to succeed in life.

History: Mystic Bowie was given this tribal name by his elders based on the powers they sensed in him. Mystic became a singer for the Jamaica Tourist Board as a child and has performed professionally worldwide and recorded with some of the music industrys hippest melody makers. It has been Mystics dream to give something back to the people of his community, the people of St. Elizabeths Parish. Ten years ago on a whim he drew a sketch of what he hoped would be a center of music & sports for the community. Today we are making that dream come true. Our team has just returned from a two week trip in Jamaica where they delivered supplies to Accompong Primary and Junior High School in the parish of St. Elizabeth. We realized that the small school created out of shipping containers welded

together with a combined cafeteria, library, media center and nurses station all in one room needs an actual library. We are making it our mission to expose these children to the music, drama, and sports that are explored all over the world. We are seeking donations that will help us do just that. Thank you for your support. Donations and contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Under-17 womens footballers will kick off their Caribbean Football Union (CFU) World Cup final-round qualifiers today, when they battle The Bahamas in the feature match of a doubleheader at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, starting at 6 p.m. Vin Blaine, coach of the junior Reggae Girlz, who are one of the favourites to progress to the next phase of the competition, said his team is oozing confidence. We dont know anything about them (The Bahamas), but what we know is that they cant beat us, said Blaine. I am very confident of a victory and I know that we will qualify for the CONCACAF round of the competition, he said. Blaine added that his teams preparations have been going great and everyone is raring to go. We know exactly what the region has to offer, and so I dont think that The Bahamas are on the same level as us now, Blaine said. Shantell Thompson, necticut mans skull with an aluminum baseball bat last year in what police say was a fight over a woman. The 25-yearold Remillard didnt speak during the hearing in Hartford Superior Court, and he was led out of the courtroom by marshals to begin serving his sentence. He pleaded no contest to first-degree assault in September in exchange for the five-year term. Matt, by accepting this plea, has given up his career, said Kevin OBrien, one of Remillards lawyers. This is just a tragedy. The victim, 22-year-old Jordan Evans, described a harrowing ordeal in his January 2010 encounter with Remillard. Evans said Remillard pummeled him with the bat several times at a home in Marlborough, about 15 miles southeast of Hartford. Evans said he managed to run outside, get in his car and lock the doors, but he didnt have the keys and

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - Kevin Molino scored four times, three in the first 32 minutes, to lead Trinidad and Tobago to a 9-1 victory over Suriname on Monday and a place in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying finals. Trinidad will be joined in the finals by Cuba, which later drew 1-1 with St. Kitts to finish atop the last fourteam round of Caribbean qualifying. Cuba ended with five points, one better than Trinidad and St. Kitts. Trinidads final day rout gave it a plus5 goal difference, edging out St. Kitts which finished with a plus-2. Suriname was last with three points. The results complete the eight-team field for the March 22-April 2 finals in Kansas City, Kansas; Nashville, Tennessee, and Los Angeles. Jamaicas Sunshine Girls suffered consecutive defeats to New Zealand and Australia to cap off what was an otherwise encouraging campaign in the Fastnet competition, The World Netball Series 2011, which concluded at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, over the weekend. Jamaica finished fourth in the competition which England won by defeat-

ing defending champions New Zealand 33-26. Despite the disappointing end to the tournament, Jamaica Netball Association President Marva Bernard was encouraged by the teams performance. We came here with a young side of average age 21 and they gave a good account of themselves. They made us proud, she said.

Cuba and Trinidad will compete against automatic North American qualifiers Canada, Mexico and the United States as well as Central American sides El Salvador, Honduras and Panama. Molino gave Trinidad the lead with goals in the 15th and 18th minutes, and added others in the 32nd and 63rd. Jamaal Gay and Micah Lewis both had two each and second-half substitute Sean Da Silva also scored before Frisco Mando tallied for Suriname. In the nightcap of the doubleheader, second-half substitute Dalain Aira scored in the 72nd minute, his second goal in as many games, to give Cuba the draw against St. Kitts and assure its passage to the qualifying finals. It will be Cubas second straight trip to the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying finals and

Trinidads first since 2004. Trinidad has never qualified for the Olympics while Cuba has reached the Summer Games twice, lastly in 1980 when it replaced the United States, which with-

Doctors inserted eight plates and 30 screws, and then used 150 stitches to close an e a r - t o - e a r incision they made on the top of his head to fix the damage. He said he still has pain and double vision. I have suffered through insurmountable pain, Evans told Judge Elpedio Vitale. This is something that will haunt me for the rest of my life. Evans said Remillard should have gotten a much longer prison sentence and he called the five-year term a gift. He and his parents also criticized prosecutors for dropping criminal charges against three other people in the attack. The assault happened at the home of Danielle Napolitano, Evans thengirlfriend and Remillards ex-girlfriend.

We are rebuilding our team and the future looks good. We can see what we need and what we need to do. They were brilliant. As if to support Bernards assessment, organizers named captain Nadine Bryan player of the series. The Jamaican ladies went down 29-30 to New Zealand and then 24-32 to Australia to finish fourth in the tournament. The Jamaicans finished with a record

of four wins and three losses with two of those wins coming against the winners, England and New Zealand.
