Goal: How effective teachers think BYOT has been within their classroom.

What improvements can be made to make it more effective? What are the concerns with the use of students bringing in their own technology? What improvements have they seen in the students learning environment because of BYOT? How will BYOT increase student achievement? How can we better prepare teachers in feeling encouraged to incorporate BYOT into their own classroom lessons?

Action Steps
Step 1: (Data collection) 1. Begin observing/evaluating teachers incorporating BYOT, into their lessons and interaction in the classroom. 2. Begin observing/evaluating students using their own technology in the classroom and how often they are using them. 3. Begin journaling my findings weekly to determine if there is an increase as the year progresses. Step 2: 1. Interview/ survey several teachers at each grade level and ask a series of questions 2. Interview/ survey students

BYOT, and what they would like to see being done with it. 3. Allow for me to collect the data on how parents feel about the use of BYOT, and their concerns/excitement for it, as well as, improvements that can be made 1. Quantitative Data collection by asking other schools within the district similar questions as I did for my own school. This will determine the effectiveness around the district, not just my school 2. Communicating with other districts will give guidance for suggestions, and comments on how to improve BYOT, or encourage what we are already doing with this new policy. Will give us an insight on other districts. 1. By combing all information, I will then be able to determine my goal of How effective teachers think BYOT has been within their classroom. Step 3: 1. Communicate with other schools within the district about the use of BYOT. 2. Communicate with other districts using BYOT, and find out their guidelines for it, as well as, their opinions on it so far.
