Team Building Activities Listen Closely Teachers will be paired up.

There will be an obstacle course for each teacher pair. One teacher will be blindfolded while the other teacher will guide the other with directions. Have them take turns at each role. While this is a noisy activity, use this as an example as how one must always listen to each other, even when there are distractions of everyday teaching. Balloon Tower Each team is made up of three or more members. Supplies include masking tape and two hundred balloons per team. Balloons must be taped to each other but not to the wall, floor, etc. There is a time limit of 30 minutes. This activity is designed to promote cooperation and exploration.

According to Chris ONeal, team building and collaboration are the most important elements in order to make a school successful. ONeal argues in his article, Team building and collaboration: A necessary combination that the two must be used together in order for a school to improve (ONeal, 2006). Luckily, there are many team building activities that are designed with teachers in mind in order to promote a unity amongst co-workers, instead of displaying a superficial collaborative effort. Listed next are activities with brief descriptions that are good to use at the beginning of the school-year and can be done at your school. In the last column, several offcampus locations are listed that specialize in designing team building activities.
