Two years in America. Arrived Dec 9 2009.

It has gone so fast. With ten suitcases we moved from Melbourne Australia to Chicago Il. Two brand new roles, one as the Director of Missional Imagination at Community Christian Church., helping them to empower every person to live on mission. The other as National Director of Forge America commissioned with starting Forge here from nothing. As well as raising over half my salary through support raising and all our health insurance costs. January 18 2010 Carter was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. In May we moved out of the Warners basement to Hometown East Aurora, to help start a new mission in a predominately Hispanic area. I have also been traveling all over America. Were grateful for the support of friends and through these last two years and the next 1-2years.

Forge Americalaunched in April 2010 and now has HUBS in Alabama, Kentucky, Chicago, Kansas City and Dallas. Each with either a summer or year long residency. He spoke at both our Leadership Community and weekend services. Kim was inspiring and challenging for our people. The conversations outside of LC and Celebration Services was spirited. As people wrestled with what it means to be missional in their lives, the most powerful response I heard numerous times was..."I can do this!" From Baseball for around 90 kids on a Monday night to large community events such as Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, and Christmas. None of this would be possible without the support of friends and families. From the generosity of those who faithfully give to our ministry and the kindness of strangers, who become new friends, opening their homes so Maria and the kids can come travel with me.
