LIMITATIONS
EGPWS SYSTEM OPERATION - Pilots are authorized to deviate from their current Air Traffic Control ATC clearance to the extend necessary to comply with an EGPWS warning. - In order to avoid giving unwanted alerts, the Enhanced modes (Terrain Awareness Alerting TAA and Terrain Clearance Floor TCF functions) must be INHIBITED by selecting the TERR INHIBIT switch when within 15 NM of take-off, approach or landing at an airport for which any of the following conditions apply: - The airport has no approved instrument approach procedure. - The longest runway is less than 3,500 ft in length. - The EGPWS database, and alerting algorithms currently do not account for man made obstructions.
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data
- The use of Terrain Awareness Alerting TAA function is prohibited during QFE operations. - For proper operation of Terrain Awareness Alerting (TAA): - QNH must be set on left side if ADC1 is operative. - QNH must be set on right side if ADC1 is not operative, or after a reversion from ADC1 to ADC2. NOTE The EGPWS does not take account of specific airplane configuration and climb performance and a PULL UP maneuver, for certain situations, may not ensure terrain clearance.

SUPPLEMENT 12
A/C WITH ONE EGPWS WITHOUT TERRAIN DISPLAY Limitations, Emergency and Abnormal procedures
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
For ditching or other off airports landings, the Enhanced modes (Terrain Awareness Alerting TAA and Terrain Clearance Floor TCF functions) should be INHIBITED by selecting the TERR INHIBIT switch.
ABNORMAL PROCEDURES
- An amber GPWS annunciation is provided for failure of the Ground Proximity Warning System. - An amber W/S annunciation is provided for failure of the Windshear Detection function. - An amber TERR annunciation is provided for the loss of the Terrain Awareness function.

SYSTEM ACTIVATION
NOTE After losing all radio altimeters, the basic GPWS MODES (MODES 1 to 6), WINDSHEAR DETECTION and TERRAIN CLEARANCE FLOOR will not be available but the enhanced features of terrain awareness alerting, however, will be available.
ON GROUND
- Prior to every flight: Perform a short system self test.
IN FLIGHT
NOTE When any of the EGPWS alert lights are illuminated, the TCAS is placed in TA ONLY mode which inhibits all TCAS aural messages.
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data
APPROACH
NOTE If landing is expected with 20 FLAPS + SLATS, or below, set the EGPWS FLAPS ORIDE switch to on position in order to inhibit the TOO LOW FLAPS warning.
