From the Pastor

hat do you think of when you hear the word, hope? Perhaps you have heard the word used in a recent conversation: With the housing market the way it is, I hope I dont lose my house! In that context hope refers to something that is very uncertain. However, in Scripture hope never refers to something uncertain. It is, a confident expectation or trust in someone or something. In fact, we are repeatedly encouraged throughout the Bible to hope in the Lord. We can confidently expect God to do what He says and trust Him to lead and guide us well. Here at Crossroad Baptist Church we are passionate about getting to know our God! The more we get to know Him, the more full of hope we will become. Come navigate lifes crossroads with us as we grow hopeful people, one life at a time!

What do HoPeFul people look like?

H Him first Hopeful people will put Christ first in their lives, marriages, friendships and relationships because Colossians 1:18b reminds us that our goal should be, That in all things He might have the preeminence. o Others oriented Hopeful people will be concerned about the needs of others and will take seriously Pauls exhortation to the Galatians to, Bear ye one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (6:2). They will follow Christs supreme example as stated in Philippians 2:3b, ...in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves... P Prayer empowered Hopeful people will prioritize prayer as Ephesians 6:18 reminds us, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit... e Evangelistic Hopeful people will seek the lost with the compassion of Christ by following the Lords command in Mark 16:15, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

F - Filled with the Spirit Hopeful people will seek Gods power for daily living by being, filled with the Spirit, (Ephesians 5:18b), which will show in their walk, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16) u - United in purpose and direction Hopeful people seek unity in the church rather than division as they endeavor, to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, (Ephesians 4:3) so that their testimony does not suffer. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for berthren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1) l Listening to the Word Hopeful people will make the Bible an essential part of their private and public walk with the Lord by reading and studying it personally and corporately. Colossians 3:16a, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. I Peter 2:2, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
