EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report deals with the different activates to make strong HRD. HRM is one of the most important subjects in any organization in all over the world. Here the organization can get the policy that how to maintain their resources for the future. This report consists of the HR functions of Hamko Company such as recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation, performance appraisal and industrial relation. HR is the main element of any types of organization. For the improvement of the organization HR should be improve through the training and development and performance evaluation. In the context of Bangladesh here have a lack of electricity for household and as well as for the industries. In our country we need over 4100-mega wait. But we can produce only 2000 mega wait. For this reason, we can get the proper electricity for household and industry. So a lot of power and battery producing company dramatically established in our country quickly. Among them the

HAMKO CO. is one of the large and top batteries producing company of Bangladesh. As a new company in Bangladesh hamko establish a HR Department for ensuring smooth operation of HR functions. There are some human resource functions performed by this company such as recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation, performance appraisal and industrial relation.

There are some problems relating to the human resource functions of Hamko Company. Such as Hamko Company dose not take written test for
the selection, they have no off the job training, their performance evaluation system is poor, and the compensation package of Hamko Company is not good and attractive.

In the recommendations, there are some suggestions that are Hamko Company should take written test for the selection so that they can requite most qualified employees. They can make a separate off the job training place in Bangladesh for arranging off the job training for its employees. HC can take different types of performance evaluation system for its employees. The compensation package of Hamko Company should be strong and attractive. The organization should build up common corporate culture that is lead to be a global organization.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the study: Human resource management practices are a special type of mechanism with which a business organization can able to perform its activities. For a smooth production there must need a strong HR with which the organization can get sufficient support for achieving the goal of the organization. HRM is the topic which is discussed throughout the world. For any organization it is the most important element to carryout the prosperity. But there are some organizations where HRD is not established. For this reason, every year a huge number of companies become losing human capital. So, to build up a strong organization, every organization should develop human resource department. 1.2 Scope of the study: Actually the scope of the HRD of any organization is very potential, important and critical. The total success of the company is trusted with the policy of HRD. Any company cannot achieve their prosperity without maintaining the HRD. On the other hand, without human capital of the companies, production is not possible. So the company

needs to supply human capital for the smooth operation of whole organization. 1.3 Objectives of the study: Now-a-days the HRM is one of the most important parts of any organization. So, as a battery producing company hear need a sound and transparent HR. For this reason, the main objectives of the HRM are to control the whole body of the company by assigning duties and responsibilities for the employees of the organization so that smooth operations are ensured. The main objectives of the study divided into two parts: Primary objectives: To apply the theoretical knowledge. To focus on the business and operations of the company. To analyze human resource practices of the company. To identify the strength, weakness, opportunity and threats of the company regarding HR issues. Secondary objectives: To acquire in depth knowledge about HR functions. To improve corresponding and report writing ability. To know the practical practices of HRM To fulfill the requirement of the internship program.

1.4 Research design of the study: The research design of the study based on data collection and data analysis related to HRM of HAMKO co.

Data collection: Data are collected from the primary sources and secondary sources. Primary data: The primary data are collected from the practical works related to the HR activities, and also face to face interview with some of the HR personnel of Khulna branch and also Head office. Secondary data: The secondary data are collected from the various documents of HAMKO co. and as well as the text books, other publication of the company, and web site etc. Data analysis: The data analysis fully based on the actual features of HAMKO co. related to HRM practices. Here data are analyzed in an analytical system with some tables.

1.5 Limitations of the study The study based on the sharing views with a number of senior levels executives who work in HRD of HAMKO CO. They told me that the information is strictly confidential. Because of my time constraint I tried hard to make the report as comprehensive as possible. 1. The main problem of my study is time constraint, because it is very short time to know about the organization as well as HRM practices. 2. Some of the HR executive were not helpful and would not like to disclose HR related issues.
