Risk Based Inspection Planning

Training Course
In Collaboration Between The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology & Bureau Veritas Course intended for managers and engineers in charge of the definition of the inspection planning and maintenance strategies of offshore installations
Lecturers:
Prof. Dr. Faber is a specialist in structural reliability analysis and reassessment, Professor at the Institute of Structural Engineering, Zurich (Switzerland ), having a wide experience in advanced analysis for reassessment of steel and concrete structures. Prof. Dr. Faber has been responsible for the Risk Based Inspection planning for majors offshore installations, such as for the Jotun and Balder fields (Esso Norge) including static process equipment, FPSO ship hull structures, jacket and topside structures and sub-sea satellites, flexible piping and risers. Furthermore he has developed strategies and software for offshore operators for the purpose of reassessment and inspection and maintenance planning of fixed offshore structures. Jean Goyet, graduate from ESTP, is Research Director within the Research Department of the Marine Division. Jean Goyet joined Bureau Veritas in 1993. He has over 15 years of experience in structural reliability and has become an international expert in this field. Jean Goyets experience in structural reliability is related to structural analysis, fatigue & fracture analysis, decision theory, probabilistic analysis, development of codes and rules, code calibration. He is member in several French and European committees dealing with structural safety, e.g. JCSS (Joint Committee on Structural Safety), ISDF , AFGC and ESRA. Jean Goyet is presently responsible of RBI (Risk Based Inspection) activity within the Bureau Veritas Marine Division.

Course Information The course was held the first time in Rio, October 1- 5, 2001 with 15 participants mostly from Petrobras and the Federal University of Rio de Janiero. The next course will be held at University College London, UK, April 8-12, 2002.
