non-exempt position. Benefits include paid holidays, sick leave, vacation leave, medical insurance and 40 hours/work week.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Job Developer is under the supervision of the Lead Job Developer and Job Development Coordinator. The Job Developer is responsible for assisting persons with disabilities to find, obtain and maintain employment of their choice that will help them to live more independently. This involves working closely with representatives of the California Department of Rehabilitation, area employers, and others involved in the employment field. The Job Developer must also maintain all required paperwork. DUTIES INCLUDE: 1. Conducting intake and assessments of all consumers seeking job placement or preparation services. 2. Coordinate with Department of Rehabilitation Counselors on all consumer employment plans and procedures. 3. Follow all Department of Rehabilitation and other pertinent regulations and laws concerning job placement for persons with disabilities. 4. Prepare consumers to best seek and obtain employment, assisting them in these tasks. 5. Find appropriate jobs that meet individual consumer desires and skills as established through their individual written rehabilitation plans. 6. Assist Job Development Coordinator in establishing work sites for external situational assessments as needed. 7. Maintain records of employer contacts and other employment related activities. 8. Refer consumers to RICV IL Specialists, WIPA Specialists and Assistive Technology Advocates as needed. 9. Become familiar with all employment related resources appropriate for assisting consumers. 10. Serve on community advisory boards or committees as appropriate and work with community leaders to increase employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. 11. Conduct community training, outreach, and in-services. 12. Complete in a timely manner all necessary documentation and submit monthly data reports to Department of Rehabilitation.

Must exercise incentive, ingenuity, and sound judgment in technical matters and workload coordination. Carry out all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. At least four years of experience working in job placement services. Appropriate post-secondary education may be substituted for experience on an individual basis. 2. Ability to successfully relate to and communicate with employers, people with disabilities and their families. 3. Self motivated with good verbal, written, and organizational skills. 4. Basic computer skills, operation of fax, copy, and TDD. 5. Experience working with people with disabilities is strongly desirable. 6. Ability to maintain a large number of consumer files. 7. Must have own transportation. It is necessary to be able to travel in a 5 county area on agency business. 8. Must have an understanding of and commitment to the concepts and philosophy of competitive employment, independent living and selfdetermination of persons with disabilities. 9. Ability to effectively present information to employers, consumers and their family, staff, local, and state agencies, and employer groups on employment issues affecting people with disabilities. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Experience with Windows Operating Software environment including ability to use word processing and database software. Experience with using the Internet for research and email. Knowledge of various programs and services available to persons with disabilities.
