CLASH OF THE TITANS - The Debate Challenge

If you thought that a Parliamentary Debate was anything like the fiascos youve seen on TV, then think again Come to IIPM and show them how it really ought to be done so go all out to prove your point and win the motion in your favour as we bring to you the perfect parliamentary style debate in the Preliminary round and the top debaters compete against each other for an even bigger challenge at the Finals. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. The debate will be carried on through two rounds: Preliminary Round (on Day I 12th December 2011) The Final Round (on Day II 13th December 2011for the qualifiers of the Preliminary Round) 2. The topic for both the rounds would be given to the participants 2 weeks prior to the event. 3. In both rounds, the participants do not get to decide the motion they would speak for as it entirely depends on the no. allocated to them on the day of the round by the organisers. Hence the teams have to prepare for both the motions. Preliminary Round 1. Each team should consist of 2 members of the same institute. 2. Each team will be allocated a team number, 1 day before the event. 3. Flow of the preliminary Round: Team with Odd Number (A) Speaks For the motion Team with Even Number (B) Speaks Against the motion Order of speaking: Team A (Member 1) - Team B (Member 1) - Team A (Member 2) - Team B (Member 2) 4. Each participant speaks for 90 seconds. (1st buzzer- 60 seconds & final buzzer- 90 seconds) 6. Each team can raise 1 question to its opposing team at the end of the speech of both the teams. 7. The short listed finalists will get through to the Final Round. Please note: All the members of a team may or may not get through to the Finals, as only the individual score of the Preliminary Round will be taken into consideration. Final Round 1. Each finalist will be allocated a number as soon as the result of the Preliminary Round is out. 2. Participants with odd numbers will speak for the motion and those with even will speak against it. 3. Each participant speaks for 3 minutes. There is negative marking for those exceeding the time limit. (1st buzzer-2 Minutes & Final Buzzer-3 Minutes) 4. Either the judges or other finalists can interject once at the end of the speech. (Please Note: The topic for the finals will be mailed to all the participants 2 weeks prior to the event; however the motion will be informed as soon as the result of Preliminary Round is out)

EL DORADO: THE GREAT GOLD RUSH - Treasure Hunt Day I 12th December 2011 at 11:00 am 1st Prizes worth `5000 /-

A treasure hunt on 4 wheels Participants have to chase clues around New Delhi to reach El-Dorado and its famed treasures. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Each team shall comprise of 2/4 members of the same institute. 2. The team which traces all clues and reaches El-Dorado first will be declared as the winner. 3. In a circumstance, however unlikely, if no team completes all clues, the team which submits the sheet with maximum correct clues wins. 4. Clue Sheets received after the stipulated time will not be considered. 5. The driver of the car must possess a valid drivers license. 6. Participants will have to bring their own vehicles; no vehicles will be provided by the organizers. 7. Any team found violating traffic rules will be disqualified immediately. 8. Any damage to the vehicle or other road users during the course of the event will be the sole responsibility of the respective team. 9. Participants have to sign a declaration before participating in this event.

It is the turn of all the finance whiz kids out there to prove that they can master this tricky beast called money. Manage your portfolio and guide it to the maximum returns and keep chanting like ABBA ... Money! Money! Money! RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. This is a finance event based on the principles of the stock market. 2. The event will be carried on through 2 rounds. 3. Each team can consist of 2 members of the same institute. PRELIMINARY ROUND 1. There will be a written quiz based on basic finance and stock market terminology. 2. Only 8 teams will qualify for the final round. FINAL ROUND 1. The team composition remains the same, i.e 2 members in each team. 2. The rules and regulations of the finals will be demonstrated to the finalists on the spot. 3. The contestants are required to maintain and manage a portfolio of stocks that will change according to given news cues. The team that creates the most amount of wealth is the eventual winner.

YIN OF YANG - Flip Back Competition Day I-12th December 2011 at 2.00 PM 1st Prizes worth `30,000/2nd Prizes worth `5000 /-

If you want to understand what flip back is, just look at things from the back of your mind. Its time you turn around and compete with none other than yourself where you speak both for and against the topic. A grilling test of your knowledge and your ability to analyze the topics and situations from every perspective- now thats Flip back challenge. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Each student is supposed to speak for and against the motion. 2. Each Student would be given 1 minute to speak for the motion and 1 minute to speak against the motion. 3. Students would lose marks if they are repetitive.

IIPM STAR- Solo Singing Competition Day I 12th December 2011 at 05:00 pm 1st Prizes worth `85,000 /What a mother sings to the cradle goes all the way down to the coffin. What you sing at Amaze would be the festivals cherry topping. We are on a look out for the next singing sensation. So if you are a singer, a performer and an entertainer, I mean A Rock Star then you might have what it takes to be the IIPM STAR.

RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Participants can choose from a variety of song forms like western, traditional, folk, classical, contemporary, filmy and fusion. 2. Submit the karaoke music - two copies on two separate CDs (audio cassettes not accepted) five hours prior to the event. 3. Maximum 2 participants per College 4. There will be a round of eliminations (Elimination round starts 11 am on the day of the event) before the final candidates take the stage to win the hearts of thousands. Elimination Round (on Day I 12th December 2011 11:00 am) and The Final Round (on Day I 12th December 2011 at 4:30pm) for the qualifiers of the Elimination (a) Elimination Round: is open to one and all, and is purely a vocal round. Kindly note that the participants will be judged only on their voice and there will be no music provided/allowed. (b) Final Round: Only the members that qualify the elimination round will get through to the Final Round. The Final round consists of 3 stages. Stage 1: All the qualifying participants have to get their karaoke/midi file CDs and it should have the music for the chorus and the 1st Stanza of the song, not exceeding 2 minutes 30 seconds. Stage 2: In this stage, 6 participants will be short listed from Stage 1 of the Final round. The participants have to get their karaoke/midi file CD. The song could be theme based or your own theme. Stage 3: In the final stage, 2 finalists will be selected from Stage 2 of the Final round and the choice of song will be totally at the judges discretion. The participants will be given 5 songs to choose from.

RHYTHMS OF THE SOUL- Choreography Competition Day I 12th December 2011 at 06:30 pm 1st Prizes worth `10,000/If music sooths the soul, dance gives it rhythm... At IIPM, the Choreography competition is where the world is indeed a stage and you are the axis that will take the audience into orbit. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Only one entry per college is allowed for this event. 2. The participants can choose to go with the theme of the festival or their own theme. 3. Participants can choose from a variety of dance forms like western, traditional, folk, classical, contemporary, filmy and fusion. 4. Every team will have precisely 8 to 10 minutes of stage time. 5. Each team must necessarily comprise of 8 -15 members. 6. Submit the music - two copies on two separate CDs (audio cassettes not accepted) five hours prior to the event. 7. Props and costumes subject to prior approval will have to be arranged by the teams themselves. 8. Obscenity in any form is strictly prohibited and shall lead to disqualification.

Students who qualify for the second day would have to stay back in IIPM accommodation for that night. 3. The event may also involve some outdoor activities.

THE NUTCRACKER Case study competition Day II 13th December 2011 at 11:30 am (Final) 1st Prizes worth `30,000 /2nd prizes worth ` 10,000 /RULES AND GUIDELINES Stage 1 1. Participants are required to register in a team of 2. Both participants have to be from the same institute. 2. The case study will uploaded on the IIPM Amaze website on 13th November 2011. 3. Participants are required to provide a solution to the problems reflected in the case study. 4. Last date of submitting their solutions is 5th December 2011. 5. Entries will be checked for plagiarism, any team resorting to the same would be disqualified. Stage 2 1. The shortlisted lot would be informed through an email. 2. The final round would take place on 13th December at IIPM Campus, Satbari. 3. Participants are required to present their solutions in front of a panel of judges. 4. Winners will be declared on the spot.

WORDS WORTH- Creative Writing Competition Day II -13th December 2011 at 12:00 pm 1st Prizes worth ` 60,000/2nd Prizes worth ` 30,000 /Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and above all having fun! Pen down your thoughts with beauty and emotions and magic and mystery for a story that is all your own and yet everybody elses too. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. The participants will be given an hours time to pen down their thoughts on the given topic(s). 2. Topic(s) will be given on the spot. 3. Marks would be allotted on the basis of creativity, out of the box thinking and exceptional ideas. 4. All stationary material would be provided by the organizers.

THE AD-GURU- Ad Zap Competition Day II -13th December 2011 at 02:00 pm 1st Prizes worth ` 10,000/2nd Prizes worth ` 5,000 /It is said that, The art of publicity is a black art. Lets prove it here! The market is yours and so are the products. Get set Sell! This is a two stage event. In the first stage participating teams will be asked to flip through a magazine to choose a print ad and will be asked to better it keeping the theme of Amaze alive. In the second round, 1 product will be given and they would be required to design an advertisement (Radio jingle and an AV commercial) for the same. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Each team can comprise of 2-3 members of the same institute. 2. Participants are required to bring their own laptop with the desired software for making the advertisement. 3. Points are awarded for concept and creativity more than technical expertise. 4. Teams that do not wish to use technical equipment do not stand to loose points for the same.

DIRECTORS CUT- Movie Making Competition Day II -13th December 2011 at 02:30 pm 1st Prizes worth ` 10,000/2nd Prizes worth ` 5,000/If you think you are the next Meera Nair or next Steven Spielberg then this one is for you. Get the movie maker instinct out of you and make a flick that could win you not only prizes but also fame. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. The theme for the movie making competition is - Corruption 2. The duration of the movie should be of 5-6 mins. There will be negative marking on exceeding the time limit. 3. Participants must bring the movie CD with them as an entry from their respective B-school. 4. Movie should be an original piece of work. The Institute/college will be disqualified incase of any piracy or plagiarism. 5. Participants need to make a presentation for a minute or two stating the objectives and the concept of the movie followed by the playing of the same.

Here is a chance to be the show stopper as you walk the runway and take off into fashion stratosphere RULES & GUIDELINES 1. Team Composition: Open. 2. This event is restricted to only one entry per college. 3. There will be two rounds. Time limit for each round is 5 minutes on stage. 5. Participants have to submit the music - 2 copies on 2 separate CDs (no cassettes etc) 7 hrs before the commencement of the event. 6. Participants have to make their own arrangements for props and costumes for the event. 7. The participants can choose to go with the theme of the festival or their own theme.
