SHOULDER INSTRUMENTS AND RESETOSCOPE

SUBMITTED TO: Prof. Elmer Basco RN SUBMITTED BY: Joanna Marie Santos BSN3-Blk.5

Humeral Head Retractor Placed between the glenoid and the humeral head to obtain excellent exposure

Chandler Retractor Used for retracting tissue away from the bone

The specially designed handle is contoured away from the surgeon's field of view and working area. Available in 5/8" and 3/4" blade sizes.

Shoulder Retraction Instruments Designed to retract and protect the humeral head during resection of the inferior acromial surface

Ligature Carrier For Bankart repair A ligament carrier and suturing device (20) comprising an elongate shaft member having a distal end and a proximal end. A needle carrier (40) is located at or adjacent the distal end of said elongate shaft member, said needle carrier comprising a rigid arcuate tooth member and having a first end and a second end and being pivotable at the first end about an axis which lies transverse to the longitudinal axis of the shaft member (30), the needle carrier adapted to carry a needle (80) with a suture (90) attached thereto. A needle capture means (100) is located on the shaft member, said needle capture device being adapted to engage with and capture needle carried by arcuate tooth. An operating means (50) coupled to the needle carrier and operable to cause the arcuate tooth member to pivot through an arc so that the needle engages with and is captured by the capture device, the operating means being operable from a location at or adjacent said proximal end of the shaft member.

Glenoid Punch An 8" glenoid punch for Bankart repair Total shoulder arthroplasty, glenoid loosening, radiolucent lines

Hibbs Retractors Designed for soft tissue retraction by either the toothed end or curved handle end

BONE HOOKS A disposable skin-impaling and retracting or bone holding and retracting device comprises a support member from which is supported and extends a skin-impaling or bone-holding member most advantageously formed of cannulated needle stock the end portion of which is bent to form a skin-impaling or bone-holding hook, the tip end of which is beveled to form a relatively sharp point. The cannulated needle stock is bent preferably so the bevel is on the outside of the bend therein. The support member may form a handle which is grasped during the manipulation of the device in a surgical procedure, or the support member may form a hub adapted removably to receive a separate handle member. The disposable device is packaged in a container which seals the same from the atmosphere, and is pre-sterilized so as to be ready for immediate use when the container is opened.

Anterior Glenoid Neck Retractor Teeth are specifically designed to retract the subscapularis and capsule medially during a Bankart procedure wide midsection retracts the soft tissue duringanterior glenoid work. The curved handle allows the assistant to use minimal pressure to achieve exposure.

Goldstein Glenoid Neck Retractor Placed along the glenoid rim during open Bankart procedure to allow excellent exposure

Self-Retaining Glenoid Retractor with Center Blade

Center blade can be reversed for shallow or deep retraction. Two pairs of snap-in, freely pivoting blades included.

Bankart Repair Gouge and Osteotomes

Mayo scissors have two semi-blunt points and precision ground blades that are curved at the tips. Mayo scissor is used to cut fascia and tissues. Stainless Steel construction and highlypolished finish. Length 5.5 inches

Deltoid Retractor Fits easily under the acromion, deltoid and over the humeral head

Crile Hemostatic Forceps A forceps with a catch for locking the blades, used for seizing the end of a blood vessel to control hemorrhage.

The Bard Ellik Bladder Evacuator, available in disposable or reusable models, is designed for ease of maneuverability during the removal of tissue sections during transurethral prostatectomy, TURPs, bladder biopsy, etc.

Shoulder Retraction Instruments Thin Glenoid Retractors Available in narrow and wide sizes. Used for retraction of the anterior and posterior aspects of the anterior and posterior glenoid rim. Modified Darrach-type Elevators Available in four widths. Used for soft tissue retraction and exposure. May also be used to lever the humeral head inferiorly or superiorly and medially to expose the humeral head from the glenoid while dislocating the humeral head after subcapularis removal. May also be used to retract the humeral shaft posteriorly to help expose the glenoid. Spiked Darrach-type Elevator The spiked elevator is used slightly below the anterior rim of the glenoid to help retract the labrum and anterior capsule. Bicep Elevator Used to help retract the biceps tendon superiorly. The two extensions allow the long head of the biceps to fit between them. The edges fit on the superior portion of the glenoid rim. Posterior Glenoid Elevators Available in three widths. Used to help expose the posterior aspect of the glenoid. The curved tip allows the elevator to fit on the posterior rim of the glenoid. The curve in the elevator contours to the humeral shaft for posterior retraction. Modified Fukuda-type Retractors Available in small and large sizes. Used to retract the humeral shaft posteriorly and helping to expose the entire glenoid surface.

Acromioplasty Retractor Designed to retract and protect the humeral head during resection of the inferior acromial surface The two prongs hook the posterior aspect of the acromion for retraction while the file is used to smooth rough edges of the acromion post-resection.

Browne-Deltoid Retractor Used for the Delto-Pectoral approach

Contours the humeral head with effortless deltoid retraction allowing extensive exposure.

Bowen Arthroscopic Shoulder Elevator Used to enlarge the Bankart lesion Permits access to the scapular neck. Terminal bend matches the angle of the scapular neck from a standard anterior portal.

Bowen Arthroscopic Shoulder Rasp Used to abrade the anterior scapular neck to stimulate a vascular healing response Terminal bend matches the angle of the scapular neck from a standard anterior portal.

Agrawal Talon Retractor Designed to help facilitate glenoid exposure in total shoulder arthroplasty

Humeral Head Depressor Used to help expose the glenoid fossa

Placed over the humeral head and hooked around the posterior lip of the glenoid rim, to expose the glenoid fossa for total shoulder reconstruction and reconstructive stabilization procedures done through a standard delto-pectoral approach.
